1. BUF - RB Karlos Williams released

Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

The Buffalo Bills released RB Karlos Williams.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mike Gillislee will back up LeSean McCoy, but watch out for fifth round rookie Jonathan Williams to push Gillislee and be part of a committee if McCoy goes down. Reggie Bush will be a return man and perhaps play some on passing downs if he makes the team, but that is not a given.

2. CHI - RB Jeremy Langford in a walking boot

Source: Chicago Bears Radio Network - Zach Zaidman

Chicago Bears RB Jeremy Langford (foot) was spotted with a walking boot on his left foot during practice Saturday, Aug. 20.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's probably minor, as we haven't heard about any injury, but this we'll be watching to see if there's any reason to move Langford down after his preseason value peaked following a great preseason Week 2 performance.

3. DAL - RB Ezekiel Elliott may play soon

Source: The Dallas Morning News - Brandon George

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott (hamstring) hopefully will be able to play in the third preseason game, according to executive vice president Stephen Jones.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If Elliott can't go in the third preseason game, it will be hard to justify spending a first-round pick on him because of the risk of recurrence of what would appear to be more than a minor hamstring issue. The Cowboys want to be careful with the cornerstone of their running game, but it is also important to get him some game action so he can be ready for Week 1. Alfred Morris is emerging as a clear handcuff, so that helps offset some of the risk of taking Elliott early.

4. TEN - WR Tajae Sharpe continues to impress

Source: ESPN.com

Tennessee Titans WR Tajae Sharpe finished with six receptions for 68 yards against the Carolina Panthers on Saturday, Aug. 20.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Sharpe is basically set as a rookie starter for the Titans. He probably won't have fantasy value on his own, but he'll be good enough to hold down the weekly and season-long ceilings of the other targets.

5. ARI - WR Larry Fitzgerald dealing with MCL sprain

Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban

Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald (knee) didn't play against the San Diego Chargers Friday, Aug. 19, and head coach Bruce Arians said Fitzgerald is dealing with a 'slight' sprain of the medial collateral ligament.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fitzgerald has played through more often as his career has gone on, and he has generally played well through them. This shouldn't affect his ADP with three weeks to go until the season starts.

6. DAL - QB Dak Prescott proving his worth

Source: USA TODAY Sports - Lorenzo Reyes

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott led four scoring drives in the first half against the Miami Dolphins Friday, Aug. 19, and owner Jerry Jones said he doesn't see a veteran quarterback coming in as long as Prescott continues to play well.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Prescott is going to be better than any backup the team could get now. Dynasty league players have to take a long look at him on the waiver wire, as his running ability makes him a very intriguing stash with Tony Romo in the later part of his career.

7. BUF - RB LeSean McCoy visits the end zone

Source: ESPN.com

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy was held to no yards on five carries, but he caught four passes for 58 yards - including a 13-yard touchdown - against the New York Giants on Saturday, Aug. 20.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McCoy is one of the few true feature backs in the league and he's going in the third round. The injuries did pile up last year, but McCoy was running well before going down in December.

8. TEN - QB Marcus Mariota mostly sharp against Carolina

Source: ESPN.com

Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota went 9-for-10 for 104 yards with a touchdown and an interception against the Carolina Panthers on Saturday, Aug. 20. He added 13 yards on the ground before giving way to QB Matt Cassel early in the second quarter.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mariota has been highly efficient this summer, but it doesn't appear that he'll be piloting a high volume pass offense or get a lot of opportunities as a runner by design. He's a QBBC/streamer option because of the nature of his offense.

9. BUF - RB Reggie Bush expected to win No. 2 RB job

Source: ESPN.com - Mike Rodak

Buffalo Bills RB Reggie Bush has been considered the favorite to serve as the direct backup for RB LeSean McCoy since the former was signed earlier this month, even before the release of Karlos Williams, according to ESPN.com's Mike Rodak.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bush hasn't done anything meaningful on the field for over a year, with only 12 touches last year, so he's not really worth running out to get as a handcuff to McCoy. He'll be on the waiver wire watch list to open the season, but we suspect that he would yield to another back soon enough if he was asked to play a significant number of snaps.

10. BUF - RB Mike Gillislee leaves with head injury

Source: ESPN.com - Mike Rodak

Buffalo Bills RB Mike Gillislee (head) left the game following a hard hit at the end of the first quarter on Saturday, Aug. 20, against the New York Giants and is being evaluated for concussion.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Reggie Bush is now the backup to LeSean McCoy, but fifth-round rookie Jonathan Williams has also been impressive and could move up the depth chart. Bush was not able to stay healthy last year after the 49ers signed him to play a role in their backfield.

11. PIT - TE Ladarius Green calls headaches a rumor

Source: Pittsburgh Tribune-Review - Mark Kaboly

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (concussion, ankle) said he has no idea where rumors of his headaches spawned.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We still aren't spending a pick before the very late rounds on Green until he gets activated from the PUP. Right now it seems like the Steelers are going forward with Jesse James as their starter.

12. ATL - Atlanta makes three roster moves

Source: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution - D. Orlando Ledbetter

Atlanta Falcons PK Shayne Graham re-signed Saturday, Aug. 20. Free-agent FS Sergio Brown (Jaguars) was also signed. PK Nick Rose was subsequently waived.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Matt Bryant has been banged up, so the Falcons are carrying a second kicker, but Rose was failing repeatedly in the preseason.

13. BUF - WR Sammy Watkins sidelined

Source: The Buffalo News - Vic Carucci

Buffalo Bills WR Sammy Watkins (foot) is not playing against the New York Giants Saturday, Aug. 20.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Watkins has been his old self in practices and appears to be on track to deliver on the 3rd round price he is currently commanding in redraft leagues. Hopefully the team will let him open up the throttle and play next week, but it shouldn't be considered a bad sign if he doesn't.

14. NYG - WR Victor Cruz not ready to play

Source: NFL Network - Kimberly Jones

New York Giants WR Victor Cruz (groin) will not play Saturday, Aug. 20, against the Buffalo Bills. He will continue working with a trainer Sunday, Aug. 21, and plans to practice Monday, Aug. 22 in hopes of playing against the New York Jets next week.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cruz is undraftable in redraft leagues, and the Giants legion of excellent undrafted and journeyman wide outs should make the decision of whether to keep Cruz or someone like Roger Lewis, Darius Powe, or Myles White difficult for the team.

15. TB - RB Doug Martin sitting Saturday

Source: Tampa Bay Times - Rick Stroud

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Doug Martin (ribs) will not play Saturday, Aug. 20, against the Jacksonville Jaguars due to bruised ribs. The decision is strictly precautionary and Martin is expected to play against the Cleveland Browns next week.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Charles Sims will get some extra run and UDFA Peyton Barber will get extra opportunities to impress his way into a roster spot behind Mike James as the fourth running back.

16. PHI - WR Jordan Matthews should play Week 1

Source: The Philadelphia Inquirer - Jeff McLane

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (knee) should be ready for the start of the regular season, according to head coach Doug Pederson. Matthews is considered day-to-day, but Pederson is not sure if Matthews will practice this week.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Matthews' running mates on the outside are still up in the air, with 2015 first-rounder Nelson Agholor still likely to get a spot by default. Matthews should be a high volume play over the course of the year, but he had a long stretch of poor games last season in a similar situation.

17. DET - RB Stevan Ridley may be on bubble

Source: ESPN.com - Michael Rothstein

Detroit Lions RB Stevan Ridley may be on the roster bubble if he does not receive any work with the second-team offense during the team's third preseason game.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Seventh-round rookie Dwayne Washington's size/speed combination seems to have put him ahead of Ridley, who hasn't been the same since tearing up his knee is 2014. Zach Zenner is still in line to be the "big back" mixed in with Theo Riddick and Ameer Abdullah.

18. DEN - RB Ronnie Hillman to work on special teams

Source: ESPN.com - Jeff Legwold

Denver Broncos RB Ronnie Hillman is expected to play on some special teams units during the preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers Saturday, Aug. 20, because he is competing for a spot on the 53-man roster.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This is a great sign for Devontae Booker's prospects as the backup to CJ Anderson. If Anderson goes down, Booker should be in line for a big leap in value.

19. MIA - QB Matt Moore has concussion

Source: The Miami Herald - Armando Salguero

Updating a previous report, Miami Dolphins QB Matt Moore (concussion) has been diagnosed with a concussion and will take part in the concussion protocol.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Seventh-round rookie Brandon Doughty will get work backing up Ryan Tannehill if Moore isn't ready for the third preseason game next week.

20. SD - WR Travis Benjamin has quiet debut

Source: ESPN.com - Eric D. Williams

San Diego Chargers WR Travis Benjamin caught one pass for 11 yards in the preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals Friday, Aug. 19.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Benjamin is getting the limited work that core starters get. He's underrated as a bench wide receiver pick that you can get in the 9th-10th round. Benjamin should get plenty of targets as a deep threat in a pass-first offense.

21. MIA - Laremy Tunsil part of new Miami O-line

Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Josh Alper

Miami Dolphins OT Laremy Tunsil replaced OT Dallas Thomas as the starting left guard, and OT Jermon Bushrod started at right guard in place of OG Billy Turner for the preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys Friday, Aug. 19.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Dolphins offensive line is part of a larger transition as the Miami offense has had some hiccups this summer. It's hard to like any Dolphins to greatly exceed expectations early in the season with the shuffling line and reports of problems adopting new offensive coordinator Clyde Christensen's scheme.
