Our users told us they wanted a great mobile drafting tool and we listened. We worked through the offseason combing through every type of league we could. We believe our end result is the most complex math algorithms created to best simulate any type of league. We don't have the computer teams just draft by Average Draft Position like our competitors do. We use a combination of VBD, ADP, position need, and a high degree of mathematics to power our Artificial Intelligence algorithms. It's this kind of attention to detail that people have come to expect from the Footballguys brand.

Still on the fence? Take a look at our demonstration video showing the app in use.

BAL - RB Vonta Leach signed

Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

The Baltimore Ravens have re-signed free-agent FB Vonta Leach to a two-year deal. Financial terms were not disclosed.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Leach is one of the best blocking fullbacks in the game today. He'll be able to continue blasting open holes for both Ray Rice and Bernard Pierce. This move allows Kyle Juszczyk to play more of an H-back role where he can help fill the gap left by injured TE Dennis Pitta.

NYG - More on WR Hakeem Nicks

Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Ohm Youngmisuk

Updating a previous report, New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin said he hoped WR Hakeem Nicks (groin) was being limited for precautionary reasons.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's the smart move the Giants here. Nicks is a fantastic receiver but is oft-injured. He's a big piece of the passing game and 2013 is a contract year for the veteran receiver. If healthy we wouldn't be surprised to see Nicks finish the year as a top 15 fantasy WR.

HOU - Hoping RB Arian Foster can practice soon

Source: ESPN.com - Josina Anderson

Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said he hopes RB Arian Foster (calf) will be able to practice at some point during the middle of this week. Foster is currently on the Physically Unable to Perform list.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Texans have no reason to rush Foster back before he's ready. They are going to be cautious with their superstar RB as he's coming back from this calf injury. In the meantime we'll see more from Ben Tate in training camp.

CLE - WR Josh Gordon limited

Source: Akron Beacon Journal - Nate Ulrich

Cleveland Browns WR Josh Gordon (knee) was limited during practice Monday, July 29, because of tendonitis in his knee.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

There's no need to push Gordon if he's not healthy. Head coach Rob Chudzinski said he is not sure if Gordon will need to undergo an MRI but does not think the injury is serious. Gordon will miss the first two games of the season due to a suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

SF - WR A.J. Jenkins not taking control of No. 2 WR job

Source: CSNBayArea.com - Matt Maiocco

San Francisco 49ers WR A.J. Jenkins has not distinguished himself as the team's No. 2 wide receiver during training camp.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jenkins was a surprise first-round pick by the 49ers in 2012. He failed to record a catch as a rookie but the team is hoping he can elevate his game this season. It's too early to call him a bust but Jenkins needs to start playing up to his potential.

SF - TE Vernon Davis has not seen much time at WR

Source: CSNBayArea.com - Matt Maiocco

San Francisco 49ers TE Vernon Davis has indicated he has spent a lot of time with the wide receivers during camp, but he has not done any one-on-one work with the receivers against the cornerbacks and has only lined up outside a handful of times since training camp began.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Davis spent time at WR this offseason but is back to his natural position of TE. He is willing to line up as an outside receiver if the team asks him. The 49ers may try to change things up by lining him up as a receiver sometimes to create mismatches.

BAL - No structural damage for TE Dennis Pitta

Source: The Baltimore Sun - Aaron Wilson

Updating a previous report, Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said TE Dennis Pitta (hip) did not suffer any ligament or cartilage damage when he suffered his hip injury.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

A silver lining here for Pitta. He will still miss the entire season but his long-term prognosis may be better with this news. This injury will affect his free agency market in 2014.

OAK - WR Rod Streater could have big role

Source: ANG Newspapers - Jerry McDonald

Oakland Raiders WR Rod Streater has been very consistent during practices and could become the go-to receiver in the passing game this season.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

An important note for fantasy owners seeking WR depth here. Streater impressed as a rookie and could be in line for a bigger role in 2013. He's not the athlete that Denarius Moore is but Streater consistency stands out. He could become a favorite of QB Matt Flynn in 2013.

OAK - QB Matt Flynn still favorite for QB job

Source: ANG Newspapers - Jerry McDonald

Oakland Raiders QB Matt Flynn has not done anything to lose his edge in the competition for the starting quarterback job. He has been fairly consistent and error-free during practices.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That sounds like Flynn. He's not a superstar QB with a big arm or elite athleticism. He's got a weaker arm but can work well on short and underneath routes. Rookie Tyler Wilson has a gunslinger's mentality and mechanical issues that have been showing through in training camp. We still like Wilson's dynasty value but Flynn is likely the starter for week one.

NYJ - RB Chris Ivory limited

Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Jane McManus

New York Jets RB Chris Ivory (hamstring) was limited to individual drills during practice Monday, July 29.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ivory has an injury history that has held him back as a pro. The team will make sure to be especially cautious with their starting RB as he prepares for the regular season. This leaves the Jets thin at the position with Mike Goodson missing camp for undisclosed reasons.

SD - Coach wants to use multiple RBs

Source: FOXSports.com - Alex Marvez

San Diego Chargers head coach Mike McCoy said he wants to use multiple running backs this season and will use the hot hand at the position. 'That's the big thing. Play the hot hand while you roll. If you've got to tap out for a play or two, we'll put the next guy in,' McCoy said. RB Ryan Mathews has worked with the first-team and second-team offense during practice and is part of a rotation with RBs Danny Woodhead and Ronnie Brown.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This is something we've been telling you about for some time. Chargers beat writer Michael Gehlken was on The Audible earlier this offseason and said the team liked what they've seen from Woodhead. With the defensive problems we could see this team playing from behind a lot in 2013. That means more of the receiving/change of pace threat over starter Ryan Mathews. Woodhead could be a valued late addition for fantasy owners. His current ADP is RB40 and he's coming off the board at 8.07 in 12 team PPR leagues.

BUF - Coach has timetable for naming starting QB

Source: The Associated Press

Buffalo Bills head coach Doug Marrone said he likely will name the starting quarterback around 10 days before the start of the regular season. Marrone did not say whether QB Kevin Kolb or QB EJ Manuel will start the first preseason game.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The competition should last all the way up until that deadline. Kolb is the experienced veteran but Manuel was the team's 2013 first-round pick and seen as the QB of the future. If Kolb begins the season as the starter there's no guarantee he'll hold onto the job for the entire year.

ARI - Ryan Williams to sit out practice

Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban

Arizona Cardinals RB Ryan Williams (knee) will not participate in practice Monday, July 29, because of an issue with his knee. Williams will receive a second opinion on his knee.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Williams is an exciting runner but he's rarely been healthy during his pro career. Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians indicated this likely will be a make-or-break season for Williams in terms of his future with the team.

JAX - QB Blaine Gabbert expected to be fine

Source: Jaguars.com - John Oehser

Updating a previous report, Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blaine Gabbert (ankle) indicated that he will be fine after suffering an ankle injury during practice Monday, July 29.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gabbert may miss a couple of days but should be ready to go for the Jaguars preseason opener.

BAL - TE Visanthe Shiancoe to compete for backup job

Source: ESPN.com

Baltimore Ravens TE Visanthe Shiancoe is expected to compete with TEs Billy Bajema, Matt Furstenburg and Alex Silvestro for the backup tight end job to TE Ed Dickson.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Shiancoe is not the same player he used to be but gives the Ravens more veteran depth at the TE position. Bajema is a better blocker but Shiancoe may be able to impress as a receiver in training camp.

PHI - WR Riley Cooper in the lead

Source: CSNPhilly.com - Reuben Frank

Philadelphia Eagles WR Riley Cooper is the front runner for the No. 2 wide receiver position. It is his job to lose.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cooper is a good run blocker, and he is one of the biggest wide receivers on the team, but he did very little when he was able to get on the field last year. He's still just a marginal player, although probably worth a pickup in deep dynasty leagues.

KC - Jonathan Baldwin running as No. 2

Source: The Kansas City Star - Randy Covitz

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jonathan Baldwin is running as the team's No. 2 receiver in camp. WR Donnie Avery has had issues with dropped passes and is working with the second unit.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Baldwin has terrific size and speed, but hasn't turned that into production since being a first-round pick in 2011. He doesn't seem to fit well in an Andy Reid offense, but he'll have to opportunity to prove those projections wrong. Between Baldwin, slot receivers Dexter McCluster and Devon Wylie, and tight ends Travis Kelce, Tony Moeaki, and Anthony Fasano, someone has to fill the void in the pass offense after Dwayne Bowe.

SEA - Stephen Williams turning heads

Source: CBSSports.com - Jason La Canfora

Seattle Seahawks WR Stephen Williams has been turning heads during the early going in training camp, and is a big target who could potentially help out if WR Percy Harvin (hip) is sidelined. 'He's been very intriguing these first four days (of camp),' head coach Pete Carroll said Sunday, July 28. 'He gives you another big-guy presence, and I've always liked having guys like that. I kind of have a good eye for guys like that, and we're always looking at guys with different dimensions. So we're excited about him.'

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Williams originally caught on with the Cardinals, but was squeezed out of a spot by UDFA LaRon Byrd. Williams is very agile for a long-limbed receiver and could be a similar sort of player to Seahawk receiver Sidney Rice in the pass offense.

SEA - WR Golden Tate ready to take big leap forward?

Source: CBSSports.com - Jason La Canfora

Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said WR Golden Tate is in pretty much every package the team runs, and they will use him not just deep, but in the shallow, tempo passing game, across the middle. 'We're using him in everything,' Carroll said.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Tate is set up for a chance at a breakout year if Percy Harvin is indeed out for most of the 2013 campaign. He is best known for "catching" the "fail mary" against the Packers last year, but Tate has also flashed some of the speed, toughness, and playmaking ability that made him a second-round pick in 2010.

BUF - QB Kevin Kolb takes more reps

Source: BuffaloBills.com - Chris Brown

Buffalo Bills QB Kevin Kolb had more repetitions under center than rookie QB EJ Manuel, but not considerably more, the first day of camp Sunday, July 28.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This has the look of a competition that will go to the rookie if it close. Kolb must decisively outplay Manuel to be assured of starting in week 1.

TB - WR Mike Williams limped off after practice

Source: Tampa Bay Times - Joe Smith

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Williams (undisclosed) limped off the practice field with a trainer after practice was over Monday, July 29.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Head coach Greg Schiano did not appear to be concerned after practice, saying he did not know anything about an injury to Williams.

NE - RB Brandon Bolden not practicing

Source: The Boston Globe - Ben Volin

New England Patriots RB Brandon Bolden (ankle) did not participate in practice Monday, July 29.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Without Bolden on the practice field it gives LeGarrette Blount more of an opportunity to show what he can do.

NYG - WR Kris Adams has hand issue

Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Ohm Youngmisuk

New York Giants WR Kris Adams (hand) is dealing with a hand issue that saw a finger pop out, but Adams was able to pop them right back in. 'Yeah, his finger popped out on him but he popped it right back in,' head coach Tom Coughlin said. 'He's fine.'

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Adams played with the Colts in 2012 but finished the season with only two catches in three games. He was undrafted in 2011 and the Giants are the fifth team he's been on during his pro career. He needs to stay healthy if he wants to impress in camp and make the roster.

ARI - WR LaRon Byrd suffers concussion

Source: The Arizona Republic - Kent Somers

Arizona Cardinals WR LaRon Byrd (concussion) suffered a concussion during practice Sunday, July 29, and will miss some time.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Byrd is a big receiver who can be a quality red zone target. The NFL is more aware of concussion problems and Byrd will have to pass the league's protocol before he returns to the field.

CAR - WR Ted Ginn to battle for No. 3 job

Source: ESPN.com - Pat Yasinskas

Updating a previous item, Carolina Panthers WR Ted Ginn Jr. will have a chance to compete for the No. 3 wideout job, and he's making the most of his opportunity early in training camp. Ginn's rare speed was on showcase over the weekend, and he connected on several deep passes with QB Cam Newton.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ginn wants to prove he's more than just a return man and has an opportunity to do that with the Panthers. We'll see him compete with Domenik Hixon for the WR3 job behind Steve Smith and Brandon LaFell.

MIA - Could have interest in WR Austin Collie

Source: The Miami Herald - Barry Jackson

The Miami Dolphins could show interest in free-agent WR Austin Collie (Colts) because of injuries to WR Armon Binns (knee) and WR Rishard Matthews (undisclosed).

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Collie is trying to make a comeback from a ruptured right patella tendon. He also has a long concussion history that clouds his NFL future. Earlier reports indicated Collie wouldn't be 100% healthy until October.

NYJ - QB Geno Smith holding onto the ball too long

Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Jane McManus

New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan said he is happy that QB Geno Smith has not thrown an interception since training camp opened but believes Smith is holding onto the ball too long. Smith was sacked two times during team drills Monday, July 29.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The rookie is far from polished and has been struggling most of this offseason. He's competing with Mark Sanchez to be the team's starter in 2013. Even if he doesn't win the starting job the team is toying with the idea of using Smith as a 'change of pace' QB.

NFL - Jeff Saturday not interested in returning

Source: ESPN - Ed Werder

Retired C Jeff Saturday (Colts) is not interested in resuming his career to join the Denver Broncos. He is down to 230-240 pounds.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Some felt the Broncos would call Saturday after Dan Koppen went down with a knee injury. That's not the case and Denver seems intent on using Manny Ramirez as their starting Center at this time.

NYJ - CB Dee Milliner injury update

Source: New York Daily News - Manish Mehta

New York Jets CB Dee Milliner (shoulder) said he is back to full strength after offseason shoulder surgery. Milliner said he realizes he will not go full throttle right away.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Jets are going to ease Milliner into the lineup. He's got big shoes to fill as he was drafted to replace Darrelle Revis (Buccaneers). Milliner was largely considered the top CB in this draft class.

MIA - Jamar Taylor not practicing

Source: South Florida Sun-Sentinel - Omar Kelly

Miami Dolphins CB Jamar Taylor (hernia) is not participating in practice Monday, July 29.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The team is going to be careful with the rookie as he deals with this hernia problem. He's going to be competing for the nickel CB job behind Brent Grimes and Richard Marshall. Taylor is a talented rookie with a nice size/speed combination.

BAL - DT Haloti Ngata fine

Source: WNST

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said DT Haloti Ngata (knee) is fine after tweaking his knee during practice Monday, July 29.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Good news for the Ravens here. Ngata is a disruptive player in the middle of the line and the defense would not be the same without him.

MIA - DE Dion Jordan could see time at LB

Source: The Miami Herald - Barry Jackson

Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle said the team will keep DE Dion Jordan at defensive end for the time being but did not rule out using Jordan at linebacker eventually.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Dolphins need to be open to moving Jordan around the formation. He is a natural athlete who can move fluidly in any direction. Jordan can bend around the edge to get pressure on the QB. He's still developing as a pass rusher and needs to add more moves to his repertoire.

ATL - DE Shawne Merriman wants to sign

Source: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution - D. Orlando Ledbetter

Free-agent LB Shawne Merriman (Bills) is pleading for the Atlanta Falcons to sign him. Merriman promised he'll rack up double-digit sacks or he'll give half his salary to charity.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Merriman retired in March and is no longer the force as a pass rusher that he used to be. It would be shocking if he plays another down in the NFL.

Philadelphia Eagles LB Jason Phillips (knee) will miss the entire 2013 season after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament during practice Monday, July 29.

Phillips was competing to be a backup for the Eagles behind starters DeMeco Ryans and Mychal Kendricks. In a corresponding move the team signed undrafted rookie ILB Travis Long.
