CIN - WR Mohamed Sanu, WR Marvin Jones could share starting job

Source: The Cincinnati Enquirer - Joe Reedy

Cincinnati Bengals WRs Mohamed Sanu and Marvin Jones could share the starting wide receiver job opposite WR A.J. Green this season. Sanu or Jones would start depending on what the first play from scrimmage would be.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Sanu is a good downfield target and can track deep targets with ease. Jones has good size and the frame to be a quality red zone target.

DEN - Suspensions handed out to two front office members

Source: The Denver Post - Mike Klis

The Denver Broncos have suspended director of player personnel Matt Russell indefinitely without pay and director of pro personnel Tom Heckert one month without pay for their arrests for driving under the influence earlier this offseason. The team will offer both treatment if it is needed.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Broncos have called one DUI arrest 'unacceptable' so it's no surprise the heavy punishment here. Vice President of Football Operations John Elway said this "It's particularly disappointing that two members of my staff acted so irresponsibly. Simply put, it's unacceptable and inexcusable. While Matt and Tom have apologized and taken accountability, it's most important they take advantage of whatever help they need. We will learn from this and take the necessary action as we move forward in a positive way."

TB - Serious competition at tight end

Source: Tampa Bay Times - Stephen Holder

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will likely have significant competition at tight end during training camp, with TE Luke Stocker likely having the upper hand in that competition going into camp. TEs Tom Crabtree Nate Byham, Danny Noble and Zach X. Miller will all challenge for playing time as well. "The position as a whole, I think they're working their tails off," Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano said. "Certainly we need to have production out of that position. So we need them to come up big."

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Stocker is a huge target (6'5") and knows how to use his frame to box out defenders. He'll automatically be a quality redzone target for QB Josh Freeman and could flourish with an expanded role in 2013. Stocker needs to improve on his concentration as he's known to drop too many easy passes. The Buccaneers don't use their TEs a whole lot so Stocker's fantasy value is limited even though he's considered the starter.

DEN - Ryan Clady will not be a full go at start of camp

Source: The Denver Post - Jeff Legwold

Denver Broncos OT Ryan Clady (shoulder) said he will not fully participate once training camp begins because his surgically repaired shoulder is not fully healed yet. He said he expects to fully participate by mid- to late-August. He is on track to be ready for the start of the regular season.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Clady commented on his timetable during a conference call with the Denver media on Monday. "I'm not sure about that yet. That's something ĎGreek' and I have discussed and also Dr. Andrews and his feelings on the situation. So I'm not quite 100 percent on when I'll be back."

CLE - QB Brian Hoyer could go after No. 2 QB job

Source: - Tony Grossi

Cleveland Browns QB Brian Hoyer could have the chance to beat out QB Jason Campbell for the No. 2 quarterback job during training camp. Hoyer does not have the arm strength that Campbell does, but the coaches like Hoyer's work ethic, football intelligence and leadership ability.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll see this play out in training camp. Brandon Weeden is the starter but has to prove himself this year in order for the new regime to give him more time at the top of the depth chart. If he struggles this season then perhaps we'd see Hoyer or Campbell get on the field.

NYJ - QB Geno Smith could still play if he loses battle

Source: - Rich Cimini

The New York Jets are toying with the idea of using QB Geno Smith as a change-of-pace quarterback if he loses the battle to QB Mark Sanchez. Smith would have a package of plays, mainly read-option runs that could exploit his speed.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Smith has been struggling to make a positive impression this offseason. Using him as a read-option QB could turn into a disaster for the Jets. Smith was primarily a pocket passer in college at West Virginia. He's an incredible athlete but gained only 342 rushing yards on 245 career attempts at West Virginia.

ARI - WR Michael Floyd a breakout player in 2013?

Source: - Darren Urban

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd has been deemed a 'given' to break out this season, and the team has made him an important target in minicamps.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Floyd is a star in the making if he can put it all together in his second season as a pro. He's big, physical, and athletic enough to adjust to deep passes. Floyd is a nice fit for the Bruce Arians vertical passing system. His current ADP is WR48 and he's coming off the board at 12.04 in 12 team PPR leagues.

CHI - WR Alshon Jeffery turning heads

Source: - Michael David Smith

Chicago Bears WR Alshon Jeffery has impressed his coaching staff and made vast improvements entering this season. 'I'll say this about Alshon: He's really invested,' receivers coach Mike Groh said. 'I have seen improvement in the very short time I have been able to work with him. He certainly has tremendous potential.'

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jeffery is one of the most exciting second-year WRs to watch this year. We love his size/speed combination and ability to dominate in the red zone. Under new head coach Marc Trestman the Bears should have an explosive passing game. They've made several improvements to the offensive line so QB Jay Cutler will have better protection. Jeffery's current ADP is WR52 and he's coming off the board at 13.03 in 12 team PPR leagues.

ARI - S Tyrann Mathieu could return some punts

Source: - Darren Urban

Arizona Cardinals FS Tyrann Mathieu could be on the field at the same time as CB Patrick Peterson returning punts, or giving Peterson a break if the defense has been on the field for an extended period. That said, coach Bruce Arians said Peterson will be on the field every the other team is punting. "(Patrick) can't get his hands on the ball enough for me," Arians said. "As long as the other team is punting, he's going to be back there. And hopefully they will be punting a lot."

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Honey Badger is incredibly quick and elusive in the open field. His elite foot frequency allows him to change direction on a dime and he's difficult to line up for a tackle.

DAL - RB Lance Dunbar had impressive offseason

Source: - Calvin Watkins

Dallas Cowboys RB Lance Dunbar had an impressive offseason, and could be used in third-down situations. Dunbar needs to improve on blocking and size could be an issue, but he is likely to play more than he did in 2012.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Dunbar is competing with Kendial Lawrence and Phillip Tanner to be the team's RB3 behind Demarco Murray and rookie Joseph Randle (Oklahoma State). The Cowboys could use Dunbar as a change of pace back and receiver out of the backfield.

NYG - Likely will keep three QBs

Source: - Ohm Youngmisuk

The New York Giants likely will keep three quarterbacks on their final roster to allow QB Ryan Nassib develop. QB David Carr likely will be the No. 2 quarterback because Nassib may not be ready for that role.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

They haven't kept three QBs on the roster since 2007. Nassib was considered by some (Russ Lande, Greg Cosell) to be the best QB in the 2013 NFL draft. He fell to the fourth-round of the 2013 NFL draft but the Giants are hoping he can develop into a quality pro. Nassib throws with proper velocity and has a strong competitive spirit. He needs to play with more pocket presence and improve his technique if he wants to live up to his potential as a pro.

CAR - WR Domenik Hixon could have edge for No. 3 WR job

Source: - Pat Yasinskas

Carolina Panthers WR Domenik Hixon could be considered the favorite for the No. 3 wide receiver job because of his previous experience with general manager David Gettleman. Hixon will have to compete with other wide receivers for the job during training camp.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hixon is a solid WR when healthy. He can work well on underneath routes and is fearless when running over the middle. Hixon will have to beat out Rueben Randle for the WR3 job behind Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz.

CIN - TE Tyler Eifert signed

The Cincinnati Bengals have signed first-round draft choice TE Tyler Eifert. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We love this pick for the Bengals and see Eifert as a TE2 with upside in 2013. Eifert impressed at OTAs by lining up all over the field and creating mismatches in the passing game. He's a fantastic move TE who looks in passes and is dangerous after the catch. The addition of Eifert gives QB Andy Dalton yet another weapon to throw to. This also moves TE Jermaine Gresham to a more traditional in-line position where his blocking can be accentuated. Eifert's current ADP is TE16 and he's coming off the board at 13.04 in 12 team PPR leagues.

NFL - QB Sage Rosenfels retires

Source: - Adam Caplan

Free-agent QB Sage Rosenfels (Vikings) has retired.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Rosenfels spent most of his career as a backup QB after coming out of Iowa State in 2001. He was originally a fourth-round pick by the Redskins and ended up playing for six teams during his pro career.

CLE - ILB Craig Robertson likely favorite for ILB job

Source: Akron Beacon Journal - Nate Ulrich

Cleveland Browns LB Craig Robertson likely will enter training camp as the leading candidate for the starting inside linebacker job next to LB D'Qwell Jackson.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Robertson made an impression last year as an undrafted free agent, playing 628 snaps in 2012. He worked with the first-team defense during offseason workouts. Robertson is expected to compete with LBs Tank Carder and L.J. Fort for the job.

TEN - DE Derrick Morgan opens eyes

Source: The Tennessean - John Glennon

Tennessee Titans LE Derrick Morgan was the 'offseason star' on the defensive line in minicamps.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll see if Morgan can build on the momentum he established last year with the Titans. Morgan had a career high in tackles (59) and sacks (6.5) in 2012. Just 24 years old Morgan has developed into one of the best players at his position.
