Matthew Berry, The Talented Mr. Roto, celebrates every aspect of fantasy sports in his new book FANTASY LIFE. Brilliant trash talk. Unbelievable trophies. Insane draft day locations. Shake-you-head-in-disbelief punishments. Ingenious attempts at cheating. And surprisingly uplifting stories that remind us why we play these games in the first place.

Between tales of love and hate, birth and death, tattoos and furry animal costumes, the White House Situation Room and a 126-pound golden pelican, Berry also chronicles his own journey from a fourteen-year-old fantasy player to the face of fantasy sports for the largest sports media company in the world.

"Football can be broken down into X's and O's, but at the end of the day, we're all after drama, human interest, and a great story. Matthew Berry's Fantasy Life is a great story. I know sports can make a difference in people's lives; Matthew Berry has shown that fantasy sports can, too." Ron "Jaws" Jaworski, ESPN NFL Analyst

Hi Folks,

Good Monday to you. This is starting to get really good. We're knocking on the doors of Training Camps and things are kicking into high gear. It's going to be a great season.

Please note tonight that we're calling out Matthew Berry's new book. Matthew's been a friend for a long time and I don't know of a harder working guy in this business. I've read his new book and it's fantastic. I could go on and on about it but let me sum it up this way: If you love Fantasy Football, you'll love this book. Trust me.

We've got a cool new article on Keeper Leagues plus the News and Notes you need so let's get to it.

ARI - QB Carson Palmer able to make every throw

Source: NationalFootballPost.com - Len Pasquarelli

Arizona Cardinals coaches and players have said QB Carson Palmer can still make all of the NFL throws and showed the arm strength for deep passes as well as good touch on the deep throws.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Arm strength isn't a problem for Palmer at this point in his career. He's not the same player he used to be but is an upgrade for the Cardinals at the QB position. We'll see if he can have enough time to throw while the downfield routes develop.

MIA - RB Daniel Thomas holding onto No. 2 RB job

Source: The Miami Herald - Barry Jackson

Miami Dolphins RB Daniel Thomas has been able to hold off RB Mike Gillislee for the No. 2 running back job entering training camp.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Don't write off Thomas just yet. When the Dolphins added RB Mike Gillislee in the 2013 NFL draft there were some who automatically assumed it meant Thomas was on his way out. Gillislee is a good all-purpose runner but he needs to prove himself at the pro level before he surpasses Thomas on the depth chart as the RB2 behind Lamar Miller.

DEN - Will discuss punishment for two front office people

Source: The Denver Post - Mike Klis

Denver Broncos owner Pat Bowlen, president Joe Ellis and executive vice president of football operations John Elway are scheduled to meet Monday, July 15, to decide what punishment front office members Matt Russell and Tom Heckert should receive after being arrested for driving under the influence. Both are expected to receive lengthy suspensions and hefty fines.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We wouldn't be surprised if one or both are let go. The Broncos are taking this situation very seriously and are likely to send a message with their discipline.

ATL - Matthew Stafford's deal will not affect QB Matt Ryan talks

Source: NationalFootballPost.com - Len Pasquarelli

An Atlanta Falcons team official indicated the contract extension Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford recently signed will not greatly affect the team's contract extension talks with QB Matt Ryan. The Falcons already had an idea about how much it would take to sign Ryan.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ryan's cap number this year is $12MM. The Falcons have no big rush to sign him to a new long-term deal. We have a feeling the two sides will be able to come together at a fair price that could make Ryan earn over $20MM per year.

TB - WR Mike Williams not upset with contract talks

Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Josh Alper

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Williams said he is not upset with his contract extension talks with the team and that the cryptic tweet earlier in the week about family was about his personal life.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Williams is known to be melodramatic on social networking so it's nice to get a little clarity here.

DEN - Finalize Deal With OT Ryan Clady

Source: ESPN

The Denver Broncos locked up left tackle Ryan Clady on Sunday, signing Peyton Manning's blindside protector to a five-year deal worth a base salary of $52.5 million.

The contract includes at least $33 million guaranteed. In addition, the money in the deal could grow to $57.5 million if Clady is named an All-Pro twice, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Great news for the Broncos and for Peyton Manning here. Clearly the team is focused on protecting their QB and we like this move.

MIA - WR Rishard Matthews favorite for No. 5 WR job

Source: The Miami Herald - Barry Jackson

Miami Dolphins WR Rishard Matthews likely will enter training camp as the favorite for the No. 5 wide receiver job but could be pushed by WRs Brian Tyms, Jeff Fuller and Marvin McNutt for the roster spot.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fuller has chemistry with QB Ryan Tannehill from their days together in college at Texas A&M. McNutt is a physical WR who can wrestle away contested catches but he's not overly quick or fast. Matthews has deceptive downfield speed and earned praise earlier this year for his standout play during OTAs.

BUF - WR T.J. Graham worked as returner in workouts

Source: BuffaloBills.com - Mark Armstrong

Buffalo Bills WR T.J. Graham worked as a kick returner during workouts this offseason.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Graham is an interesting second-year WR to watch this year. He'll compete to be the team's starting slot receiver behind Robert Woods and Stevie Johnson. Graham is a feisty WR who can get to top speed in a hurry.

MIA - CB Richard Marshall top candidate for No. 2 CB job

Source: The Miami Herald - Barry Jackson

Miami Dolphins CB Richard Marshall will enter training camp as the leading candidate for the No. 2 cornerback job but will need a solid preseason in order to hold off CBs Dimitri Patterson, Will Davis and Jamar Taylor.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Taylor could be the starter eventually but the rookie from Boise State won't be handed the job. He's a big physical player who can line up close to the line of scrimmage and help out in run support.

TB - Believe S Mark Barron can make big leap

Source: NationalFootballPost.com - Len Pasquarelli

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are confident SS Mark Barron will be able to make a big leap in his play this season because of the experience he gained last season, the addition of SS Dashon Goldson and the improvements made to the secondary this offseason.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Barron is an incredible athlete with a nose for the football and a fierce determination. He loves to make a big hit and separate the ball from the ball carrier. We'll see if he can play more disciplined and live up to his potential in 2013.

SEA - DE Chris Clemons could start camp on PUP list

Source: NationalFootballPost.com - Len Pasquarelli

Seattle Seahawks DE Chris Clemons (knee) could be ready for the start of training camp, but the team is considering placing Clemons on the Physically Unable to Perform list at the start of camp.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Seahawks are going to be careful with Clemons as he continues to recover from his knee injury. He's a fantastic pass rusher when healthy and the goal is to have him ready for the start of the regular season.
