NFL - Miami Still Looks Best For RB Vonta Leach

Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Ohm Youngmisuk

Updating a previous report, the agent for free agent FB Vonta Leach said he still believes the Miami Dolphins are the best for his client. 'To me Miami is the best fit because of their needs and their availability of [salary] cap room,' the agent said. 'I think the best overall fit is Miami, but who knows.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

A decision is supposed to be made next week. We'd be shocked if it wasn't the Dolphins who get Leach. Adding Leach would bump up Lamar Miller's fantasy stock. Miller's current ADP is RB21 and he's coming off the board around 3.09 in 12 team fantasy leagues.

KC - RB Jamaal Charles praises teams offense

Source: NFL.com

Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles said he is excited the team is going to use the pistol offense in 2013, an offense he is familiar with after running it in the 2008 season. 'I ran it my rookie year and I love it,' Charles said on NFL Network's 'NFL AM' on Thursday. 'I ain't never been around no offense that's about to be explosive and about to put me in space and making me make plays. I see Frank Gore had success with (the pistol) with the (San Francisco) 49ers. If he can have success, I hope I can have success as well.'

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Charles should be a top 5 fantasy pick in most every league out there. He'll be the focal point of the new Andy Reid offense and should finish the season as a top 5 fantasy RB. His current ADP is RB4 and he's coming off the board at 1.04 in 12 team PPR leagues.

NE - TE Michael Hoomanawanui could get bigger role

Source: ESPNBoston.com - Field Yates

New England Patriots TE Michael Hoomanawanui could get a bigger role in the offense this season after the team released TE Aaron Hernandez.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

"Uh-oh" is an athletic TE who knows how to use his frame to get open. However, we've been hearing more this offseason about 2013 UDFA Zach Sudfeld (Nevada). We'll see guys like Daniel Fells, Sudfeld, and Hoomanawanui compete for more playing time.

DEN - Could be open to trading TE Joel Dreessen

Source: ESPN.com - Bill Williamson

The Denver Broncos could contact the New England Patriots to see if they would be interested in trading for TE Joel Dreessen because of their questions at tight end.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This matches an earlier story about them perhaps dealing Virgil Green because of the numbers crunch at the position. TEs will be de-emphasized in the "11 personnel" (3WR) offense ran by new OC Adam Gase. Dreesen is the best blocking TE on the team and is a good red zone target as well. He missed the team's mandatory minicamp as he recovered from a minor knee scope.

NYG - WR Hakeem Nicks will be ready for training camp

Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Ohm Youngmisuk

New York Giants WR Hakeem Nicks (knee) said he will be ready for training camp. Nicks said he has been running full routes.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Great news for the Giants here. Nicks is a key piece to their passing game and entering the final year of his contract he needs to stay healthy. He's a boom/bust play in 2013. Nicks can be a top 15 fantasy WR if he's durable all season long. His current ADP is WR20 and he's coming off the board at 5.09 in 12 team PPR leagues.

NYG - WR Hakeem Nicks working with QB Eli Manning

Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Ohm Youngmisuk

New York Giants WR Hakeem Nicks has been working out with QB Eli Manning after minicamp. The two worked out together twice this week and plan to work out together more in the coming weeks before training camp.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

There's a reason why Nicks and Manning have such great chemistry. It comes from offseason workouts like they're doing again this year.

DAL - TE Gavin Escobar will not be handed No. 2 TE job

Source: ESPNDallas.com - Tim MacMahon

Dallas Cowboys TE Gavin Escobar will not be given the No. 2 tight end job and will have to compete with TE James Hanna for the job during training camp.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This matches earlier reports we've seen from MacMahon. Hanna is still ahead of Escobar on the depth chart. Per the report Hanna has 'raised his level of play as camp went on.' Hanna has remained as the second-team TE throughout the Cowboys offseason workouts. We'll see if Escobar can move up the depth chart during training camp.

BAL - Two could be options for extensions

Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley

The Baltimore Ravens could consider signing TE Dennis Pitta and OT Michael Oher to contract extensions at some point before next offseason.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Pitta has earned the trust of QB Joe Flacco and is arguably his favorite target. It may be imperative for the team to keep him around for the long-term. Oher is not the franchise left tackle the team envisioned when they selected him in the first-round of the 2009 NFL draft. However, he's a quality right tackle and could be kept if the price is right.

DET - RB Joique Bell expected to have role on special teams

Source: DetroitLions.com - Tim Twentyman

Detroit Lions RB Joique Bell is expected to have a role on all four special teams units this season and could be a candidate for the kick returner job.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bell is a big back but gets to top speed in a hurry and is difficult to bring down once he builds a head of steam. He may win the backup RB job behind starter Reggie Bush. He'll compete in training camp with Mikel Leshoure for that spot.

KC - May be willing to move TE Tony Moeaki

Source: ESPN.com - Bill Williamson

The Kansas City Chiefs could check with the New England Patriots to see if they would be interested in trading for TE Tony Moeaki because of their questions at tight end.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Moeaki is a good player but his injury history reads like War & Peace (or Infinite Jest, take your pick). The point is this; he's a fine player but always hurt. We doubt the team would get many offers for Moeaki if he was put on the trade block.

SEA - WR Doug Baldwin stands out

Source: The Tacoma News Tribune - Dave Boling

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin reportedly was a standout during organized team activities (OTAs) and minicamp. He and rookie WR Chris Harper were impressive, but they are still behind WRs Percy Harvin, Sidney Rice and Golden Tate as far as the pecking order is concerned.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Baldwin flashed as a rookie, but didn't make much noise in 2012. He might be feeling the pressure of Percy Harvin and the obstruction he presents for snaps in the slot, along with fourth round pick Chris Harper, who might be next in line to start outside because of his rugged game and surprising speed. Baldwin isn't worth drafting, but deep dynasty PPR league owners should be monitoring him this summer.

CLE - Two OTs high on OLB Barkevious Mingo

Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot

Jacksonville Jaguars OT Luke Joeckel and San Diego Chargers OT D.J. Fluker both said they were impressed with Cleveland Browns LB Barkevious Mingo when they faced him during college. 'I've gone against Mingo three times in my career,' Fluker said. 'Mingo's a great player. He has a good work ethic and he's a guy with a high motor. He works hard, he's strong and he's fast off the edge.'

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mingo is an incredible athlete with the length, first step explosion, and closing burst to get to the QB in a hurry. He's still raw and needs to develop counter moves to his edge speed in order to play up to his potential as a pro.

DET - Two RBs could compete for one spot

Source: DetroitLions.com - Tim Twentyman

Detroit Lions RBs Theo Riddick and Steven Miller could compete for one roster spot during training camp because both are speed backs that could be used as a kick returner.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Riddick (2013 sixth-round) played both RB and slot WR during his time in college at Notre Dame. He also contributed as a return man for the Fighting Irish. Miller (2013 undrafted) played his college ball at Appalachian State and was a standout player because of his big play ability. We like Miller's willingness to run inside, lower his shoulder, and keep his feet moving upon contact. Either back is a good option for the practice squad if they don't make the final roster.

DAL - Joshua Brent arrested

Source: The Dallas Morning News - Selwyn Crawford

Dallas Cowboys DT Joshua Brent has been arrested after apparently testing positive for marijuana last week, which is a violation of his $100,000 bond in connection to his intoxication manslaughter charge.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll see Brent get released by the Cowboys in the near future. He clearly has a substance abuse problem and we hope he gets the help he needs.
