CLE - RB Trent Richardson expected for camp

Source: CBSSports.com - Jason La Canfora

Updating previous reports, Cleveland Browns RB Trent Richardson (shin) is expected to participate when training camp opens.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Richardson's participation in camp isn't really a big question, but his inability to stay 100% healthy so far in his NFL career is causing him to fall to the late first and early second round in drafts. He has top three upside among running backs, but he'll have to stay close to full effectiveness for most of the season to get there.

NE - TE Aaron Hernandez could be suspended with no conviction

Source: FOXSports.com - Alex Marvez

New England Patriots TE Aaron Hernandez could be suspended even if he is not convicted because of the NFL's personal conduct policy. Hernandez is expected to meet with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell at some point to discuss his situation.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The amount of negative publicity Hernandez has created for the NFL in just a few days is overwhelming. We'd be shocked if Goodell didn't suspend Hernandez at some point, but CBS feature columnist Mike Freeman said on his Twitter feed that Goodell is in no hurry to act while the league does their own fact-finding.

NE - TE Jake Ballard almost 100 percent

Source: USA Today - Mike Garafolo

New England Patriots TE Jake Ballard (knee) is almost 100 percent.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Obviously Ballard has become a good deep sleeper at tight end with all of the turmoil at the position for the Patriots. Don't assume that the offense will remain tight end-centric in the passing game if Hernandez and/or Gronkowski miss significant time. Bill Belichick will alter the offense to fit the strengths of his personnel. He is not wedded to one system or approach.

SF - WR A.J. Jenkins has slight lead for starting job

Source: CSNBayArea.com - Matt Maiocco

San Francisco 49ers WR A.J. Jenkins appears to have a slight edge over WRs Quinton Patton and Ricardo Lockette for one of the starting wide receiver jobs entering training camp.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The winner won't be worth targeting except in very deep leagues because Anquan Boldin and Vernon Davis will be the top dogs in this limited passing game. Dynasty leaguers who have held onto AJ Jenkins should be pleased that he's ahead, but it doesn't seem that promising that he could only open a slight edge on a fourth-round pick who reportedly showed up with a lot of work to do at rookie minicamp.

WAS - Robert Griffin doing cutting drills

Source: The Washington Post - Mike Jones

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III (knee) was able to participate in three straight days of cutting and change-of-direction drills and did not suffer any setbacks. He will continue to do similar drills in the next few weeks to get his knee stronger. He has two scheduled checkups on his knee before the start of training camp.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Every new dispatch about Griffin makes it seem more like he'll play at or close to full speed in week 1 of the regular season. He's a great value if you can get him outside of the top ten quarterbacks taken in early drafts.

DET - RB Joique Bell could see decrease in catches

Source: DetroitLions.com - Tim Twentyman

Detroit Lions RB Joique Bell likely will see a decrease in his receptions this season because of the addition of RB Reggie Bush, but he will still have opportunities to make plays. He could push RB Mikel Leshoure for carries at some point.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bell was running ahead of Leshoure in OTAs, and he seems to be a favorite of head coach Jim Schwartz right now. He was more explosive than Leshoure and Bell is a better receiver out of the backfield. If Reggie Bush were to go down, Bell could take on more value than Leshoure, especially in PPR leagues. He is barely on the fantasy radar right now, but you should be considering him as a late-round pick.

SF - WR Kyle Williams expected to be ready for camp

Source: CSNBayArea.com - Matt Maiocco

San Francisco 49ers WR Kyle Williams (knee) is expected to receive medical clearance for the start of training camp.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Williams actually has a chance to start at Michael Crabtree's "X" wide receiver spot, if we are to believe the early depth chart of Sacramento Bee beat writer Matt Barrows. Barrows listed him first at the position, ahead of AJ Jenkins. Williams has flashed in the past and should be more polished than Jenkins or Quinton Patton. The biggest question is his health coming back from an ACL tear.

DET - Two TEs could compete for one spot

Source: DetroitLions.com - Tim Twentyman

Detroit Lions TE Joseph Fauria may have to outperform TE Tony Scheffler during training camp to earn a roster spot because both are catch-first tight ends and the team may only want to keep one tight end like that.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fauria is a towering receiver who is a little more fluid and athletic than you expect him to be. His hands are more consistent than Scheffler's, but he doesn't have seam-ripping speed. He would be more of a red zone weapon than Scheffler, and cost less, so the Lions have a real decision on their hands if they choose to only carry one. The most important factor for Fauria is staying healthy, which has been a problem for him in the past. He's worth monitoring in deep TE premium dynasty leagues.

BAL - Gino Gradkowski favorite for center job

Source: BaltimoreRavens.com - John Eisenberg

Baltimore Ravens C Gino Gradkowski appears to be the leading candidate for the starting center job entering training camp. QB Joe Flacco and OT Bryant McKinnie have expressed confidence that Gradkowski will be able to handle the job.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Ravens reportedly angered the 49ers when they stole Pittsburgh quarterback Bruce Gradkowski's little brother in the late third round after the 49ers traded out of the round in the 2012 draft. It is already looking like yet another wise pick for Ozzie Newsome.

SEA - John Schneider received extension

Source: ESPN.com - Mike Sando

Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider recently received a contract extension that is scheduled to run through the 2016 season. Terms of the extension were not disclosed.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This is a no brainer for an organization that continues to ascend. Schneider has been making outstanding picks in the draft, even though the team has gone counter to expectations in many instances. He has also improved the team via trade, picking up Marshawn Lynch and Percy Harvin, and even recouped value in trades of an ill-fated free agent signing like Matt Flynn.

TEN - Teammates support QB Jake Locker

Source: NFL.com - Jeff Darlington

Tennessee Titans OT Michael Roos believes QB Jake Locker is on the verge of becoming a franchise quarterback. 'This offseason, I've seen it more than (at) any other point in the last three years,' Roos said. 'It's his team now. He might be a very easy-going guy, a very happy guy, but when it comes to football, he definitely has that fire. We're all seeing it.'

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This is not different than what we heard about Locker before he was drafted. "Want-to" and dedication are no problem for him, and probably part of the reason the Titans felt willing to take him at #8 two years ago. Those qualities are still not enough to make Locker a success if his downfield accuracy does not improve. He still represents a good deep sleeper at quarterback, simply because of the possibility of read option runs greatly padding his stats this year.

WAS - QB Kirk Cousins still preparing as starter

Source: The Washington Post - Dan Steinberg

Washington Redskins QB Kirk Cousins said he is still preparing as if he will be the starting quarterback Week 1 even though QB Robert Griffin III (knee) appears on track to be ready for the start of the season.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cousins looked very good at the end of the win over Baltimore and piloted the Redskins to an impressive win over the Browns, so there's no need to rush Griffin back. If Griffin does end up missing time early in the season, Cousins could be a low-end fantasy QB2 to open the season.

JAX - Luke Joeckel still getting used to RT

Source: Jaguars.com

Jacksonville Jaguars OT Luke Joeckel said he is still working on getting comfortable with playing right tackle after playing left tackle while in college. 'It's going to be a process. I definitely got better at it every single day through OTAs and then in minicamp. It's something I'm not just going to go out on the field and be totally comfortable with it, but we have enough practice and enough time to prepare for the season that by game one and by preseason game one I want to be totally comfortable; be 100 percent comfortable with my pass set. All I can do right now is just get better at my sets and my run steps every single day,' Joeckel said.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

#1 overall pick Eric Fisher (Chiefs) #4 overall pick Lane Johnson (Eagles) are also adjusting to the right tackle position. Fisher seems to be creating the positive buzz about his transition, but all three represent outstanding talents to be at the right tackle position, giving their passing and running games more flexibility.

NYG - ILB Desmond Bishop would have to accept a short-term deal

Source: New York Daily News - Ralph Vacchiano

The New York Giants likely would only be interested in free-agent LB Desmond Bishop (Packers) if he were willing to accept a one-year deal for the minimum salary. The team only has $3.3 million in salary cap space.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If this is true, then Bishop's value has fallen dramatically. He is reportedly considering the Giants as one of the three possible teams he'll play for, along with the Chiefs and Vikings. If Bishop would consider playing for the minimum for the Giants, that must mean that the other offers aren't much better. He's still likely to start and retain some value in dynasty IDP leagues, but his value has taken a big hit in the last two weeks.
