A. Footballguys Draft GM - Version 1.1 Ready - Get Ready To Mock
The response to the Draft GM has been outstanding and we've been hard at work with some tweaks to make it even better.

One of the coolest features about the new Draft GM is the ability to Mock Draft. While it's the tool you need to run your actual draft, it's fantastic for mock drafting where you go against the artificial intelligence of the app. It's a great way to try different strategies and see what kind of team you end up with. It would be worth the price just for how much fun it is to mock with this.
What's New in Version 1.1

- Position counting, per team and overall on rosters screen
- Variable mock draft AI delay in settings
- Global watch list
- Player search on player database
- Keeper bug fixed
- Cancel updating data option
- PPR/TDs Only scoring is retained on switching to advanced scoring
- IDP VBD adjustments
- Sliders for modifying team AI and projection set balances have numbers changing as the sliders are adapted
- Division by zero yardage scoring causing NaN in VBD bug fixed

Various other minor tweaks and issues fixed.

It's the mobile draft tool you need to Dominate Your Draft.

NE - Latest on Aaron Hernandez

Source: Gregg Rosenthal - NFL.com

Our friend Gregg Rosenthal has an ice article where he summarizes where we are and what we know about the Hernandez situation. Rosenthal writes: "Despite conflicting reports about Hernandez's potential arrest, local prosecutors reiterated to NFL.com that the case is under investigation. No one -- including Hernandez -- publicly has been named a suspect. (Or ruled out.) Investigators would not confirm or deny any reports about Hernandez."

Rosenthal goes on to list a summary of what we do know at this time.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Unless you're drafting in the next few days, a little bit of deep breathing and relaxation is in order here for this situation. The reality is that we just don't know a whole lot right now. Hopefully we'll have some clarity here soon. But today, there are still more questions than answers. It certainly doesn't look good from the outside looking in. But that often is not a clear and accurate view. Hernandez has not been named a suspect. But he also has not been ruled out as a suspect. Stay tuned.

NE - TE Rob Gronkowski could start season on PUP list

Source: Boston Herald - Karen Guregian

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (forearm, back) could start the regular season on the Physically Unable to Perform list, depending on how his rehab from back and forearm surgeries are going. Gronkowski would have to miss the first six games of the regular season if he started the season on the PUP list.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This was always a possibility given the timetable for his return from his recent back surgery. Gronkowski is most certainly going to miss most of training camp and the preseason. On the PUP list at the beginning of the year would force him out the first six weeks of the season. With all the problems at the TE position fantasy owners need to keep an eye on Jake Ballard (knee) and undrafted rookie free agent Zach Sudfeld (Nevada).

NE - Police want to search TE Aaron Hernandez's home again

Source: ABCNews.com - Michele McPhee

Updating an ongoing story, police plan to search New England Patriots TE Aaron Hernandez's house again Thursday, June 20, based on evidence that he destroyed his home security system. A cell phone used by Hernandez was given to investigators in pieces by his attorneys. Investigators also want to know why a team of house cleaners was hired to scrub Hernandez's house Monday, June 17.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's not looking good for Hernandez here. Many are speculating that he will be arrested at some point in the near future.

NYG - Have not been close in talks with WR Hakeem Nicks

Source: New York Daily News - Ralph Vacchiano

The New York Giants have talked with WR Hakeem Nicks about a contract extension, but the two sides have not been close to an agreement at this point.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

No surprise here. Nicks needs to prove that he can stay healthy for a full season if he wants to cash in with a big money deal. He's got the skill set to be a top 15 fantasy WR if he doesn't get injured in 2013. His current ADP is WR20 and he's coming off the board at 5.10 in 12 team PPR leagues.

MIN - RB Adrian Peterson feels good

Source: 1500ESPN.com - Tom Pelissero

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson (hernia) said he feels good and is ready for training camp to begin. 'Feeling good, feeling strong, feeling 100 percent,' Peterson said. 'Ready to roll when training camp comes around.'

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Peterson is going to be at the top of his game in 2013. Rushing for 2,000 yards for a second time has never been done in league history. However, if there's any RB who could do it; it's Peterson. He should be the first pick in every fantasy draft out there.

MIA - RB Lamar Miller has not won starting job yet

Source: South Florida Sun-Sentinel - Omar Kelly

Miami Dolphins RB Lamar Miller will have to show he can pass protect and stay healthy during training camp in order to hold off RBs Daniel Thomas and Mike Gillislee for the starting job.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Yet is the key word here. Miller has impressed coach Joe Philbin this offseason. "I think he has really progressed from a mental standpoint as a professional in his second season." Philbin continued, "He has very good hands. We like a lot of the things he is doing in pass protection. Again, we have to temper our enthusiasm based on how he does in pads, but I think his understanding of how he fits in the protection scheme is very good. We use that term, 'closing the distance.' He has done an excellent job in that regard in the spring, so we'll have to see how that carries over to the fall."

MIA - Coach wants deal done with RB Vonta Leach

Source: The Miami Herald - Adam H. Beasley

Miami Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin is believed to want the team to reach a contract agreement with free-agent FB Vonta Leach (Ravens) by the end of the week.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Signing Leach would be a strong move for the Dolphins. The veteran fullback is one of the best in the game and can blast open holes for the RB behind him. If the Dolphins add Leach it would be a boost for second-year RB Lamar Miller. We should see Miller officially named as the starter in training camp.

DEN - Will use multiple RBs

Source: Cecil Lammey - ESPNDenver.com and Footballguys.com

The Denver Broncos will use multiple RBs this year according to new Offensive Coordinator Adam Gase. "Coach Fox has always been great mixing in the multiple backfields and using different guys. He did it in Carolina, and that's what we're looking to [do]. We'll do the same thing here."

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

A big news item here. Some have painted rookie Montee Ball as the lone workhorse for the Broncos but that's simply not the case. The team would like Ball to win the starting job in training camp but they're still likely to use a form of RBBC. Ball is a reliable back who can grind down defenses late but he lacks the 'wow' factor to his game. The team expects second-year RB Ronnie Hillman to be their big play guy. Knowshon Moreno is getting healthier and could get a few touches here and there as well.

DEN - Sign Dan Koppen

Source: The Baltimore Sun - Aaron Wilson

The Denver Broncos re-signed C Dan Koppen.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

A strong move by the Broncos here. With Center J.D. Walton needed another ankle surgery it created a huge need for the team. Koppen started 12 games for Denver last year filling in for an injured Walton. He excels in pass protection and has a good rapport QB Peyton Manning.

MIN - WR Greg Jennings praises WR Cordarrelle Patterson

Source: ESPN.com - Kevin Seifert

Minnesota Vikings WR Greg Jennings echoed wide-ranging statements of how impressive WR Cordarrelle Patterson during offseason workouts. Jennings said that Patterson has 'that definitive step,' meaning a decisive, aggressive move near the top of a route that helps a receiver create separation. It's not necessarily a recommended football move and is often corrected when a receiver is taught to make all his routes look the same in the NFL. However, it can be effective in the right setting as a pinpoint weapon, as it was for Jennings, he said.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Patterson can get open and he's a beast in the open field after the catch. He's an aggressive catcher who can rip away contested passes from defenders.

DEN - Osweiler making improvements

Source: Cecil Lammey - ESPNDenver.com and Footballguys.com

Denver Broncos second-year QB Brock Osweiler has made improvements to his game this offseason. Osweiler is showing great arm strength, athleticism, better footwork and improved arm mechanics.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Osweiler is an important prospect for dynasty owners. He's getting groomed as the Broncos QB of the future behind Peyton Manning. Osweiler has a big arm and some in the scouting community compared him to a raw version of Ben Roethlisberger. He's the clear cut backup behind Manning in 2013 and seventh-round pick Zac Dysert (Miami, OH) is no threat to that position.

ATL - Davis aims to land backup QB job

Source: D. Orlando-Ledbetter - Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Atlanta Falcons second-year QB Dominique Davis is working hard this offseason to secure the primary backup job behind Matt Ryan.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Davis is an incredibly gifted athlete who can keep a play alive with his feet while keeping his eyes downfield. He was undrafted out of East Carolina in 2012 and played third-string QB for the Falcons last year. He started his college career at Boston College and at one point was a backup for Matt Ryan there.

BAL - QB Joe Flacco favors TE Dennis Pitta in camp

Source: BaltimoreRavens.com - John Eisenberg

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco has kept up his strong connection with TE Dennis Pitta during mandatory minicamp. Throwing the ball to Pitta looks like Flacco's default read in the passing game.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

No surprise here. With the question marks at the WR2 position we could just see more of Pitta and TE Ed Dickson. In 12 team PPR leagues Pitta's ADP is TE7 and he's coming off the board at 7.06.

BAL - WR Tandon Doss could become No. 2 wideout

Source: BaltimoreRavens.com - John Eisenberg

Baltimore Ravens WR Tandon Doss frequently ran with starters Torrey Smith and Jacoby Jones during last week's mandatory minicamp. It's uncertain whether Baltimore will establish Jones as the No. 2 wideout, which would lessen his duties in the return game, which is a strength of his. Doss still needs to prove himself as an everydown wideout despite the fact he's made a few noteworthy plays in camp.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Doss has been a disappointment through his pro career but is getting a big opportunity this year. He'll compete with Jacoby Jones to be the WR2 starting opposite Torrey Smith. Deonte Thompson and Tommy Streeter are in the competition as well.

TEN - Impressed with receivers

Source: The Tennessean - John Glennon

Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Munchak said WR Kendall Wright has lost 15 pounds and looks like he's going to break a lot of runs this year. Munchak also said WR Nate Washington has had his best camp with the team.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Titans added some weapons to the passing game this offseason like TE Delanie Walker and rookie WR Justin Hunter (Tennessee). However, it's guys like Wright and Washington that could stand out this season. Munchak described Washington as 'our leader' and essentially squashed any speculation the team would look to release or trade the veteran wideout. Wright is an exciting player to keep an eye on because of his speed and run after the catch ability.

MIN - WR Cordarrelle Patterson working on returns

Source: 1500ESPN.com - Andrew Krammer and Tom Pelissero

Minnesota Vikings WR Cordarrelle Patterson continued to see the first rep on kick returns, ahead of WR Joe Webb and CBs A.J. Jefferson, Josh Robinson and Marcus Sherels. 'I think (Patterson is) more comfortable catching kickoffs right now than punts, like a lot of young guys,' special teams coordinator Mike Priefer said Wednesday, June 19. 'But we're making progress in both phases.' Priefer said if the season were starting right now, Sherels would be the team's punt returner.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Patterson is a beast in the open field and it's wise for the Vikings to look at him as a return man. He's difficult to bring down in the open field because of his size, strength, and powerful stride.

MIN - Like what they see from CB Xavier Rhodes

Source: Vikings.com - Mike Wobschall

Minnesota Vikings CB Xavier Rhodes, one of their first-round picks in 2013, has earned positive reviews about his ball skills from first-year defensive coordinator Alan Williams. He said that in practice, Rhodes 'got his hands on some balls and he's not giving up deep balls. That's the big thing because a lot of guys like to sit on passes and you see them intercept balls and you say 'wow' and then a lot of balls are going over his head. And he's not giving up either. He's tough down low and up top.' Williams also said that Rhodes should pair with fellow tall, rangy CB Chris Cook to give the Norse more flexibility on their play-calling.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Rhodes was one of the top CBs in this draft class because of his size/speed combination. He is a physical player who can jam WRs at the line of scrimmage yet has the speed to recover on downfield routes. Rhodes will compete for a starting job in 2013 but is no worse than their nickel CB this year.

NFL - ILB Desmond Bishop decision coming soon

Source: CBSSports.com - Pat Kirwan

Free-agent LB Desmond Bishop (Packers) could make a decision soon on who he will sign with. Bishop could consider the Jacksonville Jaguars and the New York Giants. Bishop said he also could consider a return to Green Bay if all things were equal. The decision could come as soon as Thursday, June 20.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We're not surprised Bishop is going to be signed soon. He's one of the best players on the open market if he's healthy. Bishop missed all of 2012 with a severe hamstring injury.

MIA - Two to compete for RDE job

Source: South Florida Sun-Sentinel - Omar Kelly

Miami Dolphins DEs Dion Jordan and Olivier Vernon will compete for the starting right defensive end job during training camp.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jordan was the team's 2013 first-round pick (Oregon) and he may be the favorite to win the job. He's got the speed and length to chew up ground quickly. Jordan is a fluid athlete who maintains his speed bending around the edge. He'll get pushed around versus the run but can make an impact as a pass rusher.

BAL - Linebacker notes

Source: BaltimoreRavens.com - John Eisenberg

Baltimore Ravens LBs Jameel McClain (back) and Arthur Brown (hernia) are dealing with injuries during minicamp, so Daryl Smith and Josh Bynes have run with the starters. Smith called the signals in Ray Lewis' old role despite just joining the club, and Bynes has been impressive, as well.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Once McClain and Brown are healthy then they'll be on the field instead of Bynes and Smith. Brown was one of our favorite rookies this year. He's a football junkie who is incredibly smart and dedicated to his craft. Brown should be a star player in the NFL in the near future.
