A. Footballguys Draft GM - Version 1.1 Ready - Get Ready To Mock
The response to the Draft GM has been outstanding and we've been hard at work with some tweaks to make it even better.

One of the coolest features about the new Draft GM is the ability to Mock Draft. While it's the tool you need to run your actual draft, it's fantastic for mock drafting where you go against the artificial intelligence of the app. It's a great way to try different strategies and see what kind of team you end up with. It would be worth the price just for how much fun it is to mock with this.
What's New in Version 1.1?

- Position counting, per team and overall on rosters screen
- Variable mock draft AI delay in settings
- Global watch list
- Player search on player database
- Keeper bug fixed
- Cancel updating data option
- PPR/TDs Only scoring is retained on switching to advanced scoring
- IDP VBD adjustments
- Sliders for modifying team AI and projection set balances have numbers changing as the sliders are adapted
- Division by zero yardage scoring causing NaN in VBD bug fixed

Various other minor tweaks and issues fixed.

It's the mobile draft tool you need to Dominate Your Draft.

NE - TE Aaron Hernandez allegedly shot someone in the face

Source: Gregg Rosenthal - NFL.com

NFL.com reports news has emerged of a civil lawsuit filed against Aaron Hernandez in Florida.

NFL.com obtained a copy of the complaint filed June 13 in a federal court in South Florida. The complaint alleges that, on Feb. 13, Hernandez and Alexander S. Bradley got in an argument while at a strip club in Miami-Dade County. The complaint said that later, while driving toward Palm Beach County, a gun in Hernandez's possession discharged, hitting Bradley.

The lawsuit alleges that the shooting caused Bradley to lose his right eye, among other injuries. The complaint also said that Hernandez's gun was not properly licensed.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Wow. Just wow. If this is true then Hernandez could be looking at a possible suspension from the league. The legal process will have to play out but it certainly looks dire for Hernandez at this time. Hopefully we'll get some clarity here soon but right now, this looks bad.

NE - More on TE Aaron Hernandez investigation

Source: SI.com - Greg Bedard and Pete Thamel

Updating this ongoing report, New England Patriots TE Aaron Hernandez is not believed to be a suspect in the murder of Odin Lloyd, a former Boston Bandits semipro linebacker and the boyfriend of his girlfriend's sister. Hernandez was questioned by police Monday, June 17, and had his house searched for more than two and a half hours Tuesday, June 18, by police investigators. Hernandez has been plagued by off-field issues dating from his days at the University of Florida, including marijuana use and participation in gang activities by some of his friends in Bristol, Conn.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Just when it looks like Hernandez could be in the clear for the murder case, Hernandez now is dealing with the issue of reportedly shooting a man in the face earlier this year. But at least it's looking like he's not a suspect in the murder case.

NE - TE Rob Gronkowski to open camp on PUP

Source: NFL.com - Ian Rapoport

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (forearm, back) will begin the preseason on the Physically Unable to Perform list.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

No surprise here. After his back surgery on Tuesday Gronkowski's availability for the start of the regular season is in question. Monitor this situation closely as we work through training camp.

ARI - Bruce Arians backs RB Rashard Mendenhall

Source: NFL.com - Chris Wesseling

Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians said on NFL AM that 'there's no doubt' RB Rashard Mendenhall would be the featured back if the season started Wednesday, June 19. Arians is shying away from the notion that this is a time share. Mendenhall is also ready to go after fighting Achilles' tendonitis last year following early-2012 knee surgery.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Arians wants one clear cut back and is not going to employ a RBBC with the Cardinals. That back is looking more and more like Mendenhall. The two have a history from their days together with the Steelers. Mendenhall's main competition for the starting job is third-year RB Ryan Williams. We'll see if Mendenhall can stay healthy and be a value pick for fantasy owners. His current ADP is RB29 and he's coming off the board at 5.11 in 12 team leagues.

STL - QB Sam Bradford way ahead of last year

Source: ESPN.com - Mike Sando

St. Louis Rams offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer said QB Sam Bradford is 'a thousand years' ahead of where he was in 2012.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Great news for the Rams here. The team has seriously upgraded the weapons around Bradford this year. Rookie WRs like Tavon Austin and Stedman Bailey plus free agent addition TE Jared Cook will make the team more dangerous through the air. Bradford could be a great value play in 2013. His current ADP is QB21 and he's coming off the board at 12.12 in 12 team fantasy leagues.

MIN - QB Christian Ponder not crisp

Source: 1500ESPN.com - Judd Zulgad

Minnesota Vikings QB Christian Ponder didn't look good during practice Wednesday, June 19. 'Watching Christian Ponder out there, the footwork didn't look great,' Judd Zulgad, of 1500ESPN.com, said. 'The passes didn't look all that sharp.'

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bad news for Ponder here. He's going to be pushed for the starting job by Matt Cassel in training camp. Ponder is in a make or break season in 2013. He has to stay healthy and show development. The team selected him in the first-round of the 2011 NFL draft with the vision of Ponder becoming a franchise QB. That hasn't happened so far.

CAR - Moving away from zone-read option

Source: The Charlotte Observer - Joseph Person

The Carolina Panthers did not run many zone-read OTAs. The option package will be de-emphasized under new offensive coordinator Mike Shula.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

An important note for fantasy owners (especially those who have Cam Newton) here. They'll run a more traditional offense this year as they want Newton to make plays from the pocket first and plays with his legs second. This could put a dent in his rushing yards and rushing touchdowns in 2013.

MIN - QB Matt Cassel may push QB Christian Ponder

Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Minnesota Vikings QB Christian Ponder might be challenged by Matt Cassel for the starting job during the 2013 season.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The headline says it all. If Ponder is pushed by Cassel then perhaps he's not the franchise QB the team envisioned when they selected him in the first-round of the 2011 NFL draft. We may see Ponder win the starting job but there could be a quick hook if he struggles. The questionable QB position may hold back the numbers from this conservative Bill Musgrave passing offense in 2013.

NYG - WR Hakeem Nicks focusing on this season

Source: New York Post - Bart Hubbuch

New York Giants WR Hakeem Nicks said he is focusing on this season and does not know what his future with the team will be. 'I enjoy being a Giant right now. I'm going to take care of what I can take care of as long as I'm a Giant, but I do understand the business side of football, too,' Nicks said.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Nicks said he skipped OTAs because of concern about possible injuries and not because of an unhappiness with his contract situation. He apologized to head coach Tom Coughlin for skipping the workouts after telling Coughlin he would attend them. Nicks can be a top 15 fantasy WR if he stays healthy for the entire year. His current ADP is WR20 and he's coming off the board at 5.09 in 12 team PPR leagues.

ATL - TE Tony Gonzalez explains decision to return

Source: ESPN.com

Atlanta Falcons TE Tony Gonzalez said he decided to return because his son told him he owed it to himself to take another shot at winning a championship. 'But really it came down to what my little 12-year-old boy said. He said, 'You know what, Dad, you got a great football team, you guys got a chance to go get a Super Bowl,' and he knows that's the only reason I'm playing at this point. So he said go back and try it one more time. So that's why I'm here, that's why I'm going to be coming back,' he said. Gonzalez said he was leaning toward retirement because he wanted to spend more time with his family.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Falcons are in a Super Bowl window and Gonzalez is still playing at a high level so his return makes sense. This is likely his final season, even if the Falcons don't win it all.

DAL - Hanna still ahead of rookie TE Escobar

Source: Todd Archer - ESPNDallas.com

Dallas Cowboys TE James Hanna is still ahead of rookie TE Gavin Escobar (San Diego State) on the depth chart. Per the report Hanna has 'raised his level of play as camp went on.' Hanna has remained as the second-team TE throughout the Cowboys offseason workouts.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Escobar was a second-round pick and many thought he would slide right in as the primary backup behind Jason Witten. Entering training camp we could see Hanna at that spot.

DAL - Rookie WR Williams ahead of Harris?

Source: Todd Archer - ESPNDallas.com

Dallas Cowboys rookie WR Terrence Williams may be ahead of Dwayne Harris on the depth chart right now. Williams was lining up with the first-team when they were using three WR sets.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Dez Bryant and Miles Austin are locked in as the team's top two WRs. We'll see Harris battle Williams in training camp for the WR3 spot. We like Harris because of his run after the catch ability but Williams is a better vertical threat.

TEN - WR Justin Hunter does drills

Source: The Tennessean - John Glennon

Tennessee Titans WR Justin Hunter (hamstring) participated in individual drills Wednesday, June 19, the final day of the club's OTAs.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hunter is a talented rookie (Tennessee) with the ability to get open with ease. This season he could be eased into the rotation as the fourth WR behind Kenny Britt, Nate Washington, and Kendall Wright.

DEN - Team has numbers crunch at TE

Source: Cecil Lammey - ESPNDenver.com and Footballguys.com

The Denver Broncos may have a numbers crunch at the TE position this season. The position may be de-emphasized this year with the 3WR set being their base formation. If the Broncos keep only three TEs this year then Virgil Green could be the odd man out. Undrafted rookie Lucas Reed (New Mexico) could be bound for the practice squad.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Broncos have given Julius Thomas a lot of reps with the first-team this offseason as Joel Dreesen recovers from a minor knee scope. Jacob Tamme should be the team's starter but we could see Thomas get a few snaps to create mismatches. Dreesen is the best blocker at the position and a quality red zone target. Green has improved his game as a pro but may be on the way out if the Broncos only keep three TEs.

NYJ - Nick Mangold impressed with QB Mark Sanchez

Source: New York Post - Bart Hubbuch

New York Jets C Nick Mangold said he was impressed with how QB Mark Sanchez performed during offseason workouts. "He showed some good flashes in the spring, getting [offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg's] system down and commanding the offense way that he should be. We'll see how training camp plays out, but either way, the competition will make him a better player,' Mangold said. Mangold said QB Geno Smith has to work on some things before he can be a starter.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

A good sign for Sanchez here. He needs to maintain his confidence level if he wants to win the starting job. Sanchez is competing with rookie Geno Smith (West Virginia) in camp.

SF - WR Anquan Boldin works mostly in slot

Source: Santa Rosa Press Democrat - Grant Cohn

San Francisco 49ers WR Anquan Boldin worked mostly in the slot during team drills when the team had their minicamp last week.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That makes the most sense given Boldin's age and current skill set. He struggles to get off the line of scrimmage cleanly but as a slot WR he can move in motion and get a clean release.

MIN - WR Joe Webb helping out rookie WR

Source: 1500ESPN.com - Andrew Krammer and Tom Pelissero

Minnesota Vikings WR Joe Webb said he has been helping out WR Cordarrelle Patterson during practices with different things. 'I've been helping Cordarrelle out a lot, especially with the offense,' Webb said. 'Keeping him updated on what defenses like to do against certain routes.'

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Webb is trying to make the conversion from QB to WR. He's big, fast, and incredibly athletic but may lack the ball skills to make an impact as a pass catcher. Webb tried to make the switch at the Senior Bowl when he came out of college and struggled mightily during the week of practice.

ARI - WR Michael Floyd impresses coaches

Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban

The Arizona Cardinals coaches were impressed with how WR Michael Floyd performed during offseason workouts.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Floyd should be the starter opposite WR Larry Fitzgerald this season. We love his upside because he's a big, physical receiver who can dominate smaller defenders. His current ADP is WR52 and he's coming off the board at 13.06 in 12 team PPR leagues.

DET - RB Reggie Bush will have role as returner

Source: DetroitLions.com - Tim Twentyman

Detroit Lions special teams coordinator John Bonamego said RB Reggie Bush will have a role as a punt returner but likely will be used as a situational returner.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The move makes sense. If the Lions need a big return in a key situation then they could put Bush back there. He's their lead RB and should get a sizable workload as a runner and receiver out of the backfield.

DEN - Would be 'catastrophic' if Ramirez starts at Center

Source: Tom Nalen - ESPNDenver.com

Denver Broncos Ring of Famer Tom Nalen (Center) believes it would be 'catastrophic' if Manny Ramirez starts at Center for the Broncos in 2013. Ramirez has been working with the first-team this offseason at OTAs and minicamp.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ramirez lined up at Guard last year and struggled filling in for an injured Chris Kuper. He's a backup caliber player and it would be risky for the Broncos to start him at Center while in a Super Bowl window. Don't be surprised if the team added free agent Dan Koppen back to the roster.

DEN - Walton has additional surgery

Source: Jeff Legwold - Denver Post

Denver Broncos starting Center J.D. Walton has undergone another ankle surgery and may be out for the season. Team officials are hopeful he can return somewhere around the midway point of the season if his recovery goes well.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

A blow to the Broncos O-Line here. Manny Ramirez has been practicing with the first-team at Center but the team may not choose to start him in the regular season. Second-year Center Philip Blake missed his rookie season with a thumb injury but the Broncos may not trust an inexperienced player while in a Super Bowl window.

SF - Greg Roman signs extension

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

The San Francisco 49ers have signed offensive coordinator Greg Roman to a two-year contract extension.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Another strong move by the 49ers here. Roman's creativity has been key to the team's success on offense. The language of the contract doesn't prohibit him from interviewing for head coaching positions. If the 49ers have another strong season we could see Roman as one of the hot head coaching candidates for 2014.

TEN - QB Jake Locker progressing

Source: The Tennessean - Jim Wyatt

Tennessee Titans QB Jake Locker hasn't missed a practice so far during his ahead-of-schedule recovery from January surgery on his non-throwing shoulder. He's keeping up with the new playbook from offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains and has cut down on his mistakes in drills.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Great news for the Titans here. It's a make or break season for Locker. He needs to stay healthy and play up to the level the team expects in 2013. Locker was drafted to be a franchise QB and may be running out of time to prove himself as such.

MIN - ILB Desmond Bishop has good workout

Source: St. Paul Pioneer Press - Ben Goessling

Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Alan Williams said free-agent LB Desmond Bishop (Packers) had a good workout with the team Wednesday, June 19, but did not know if the team will sign Bishop.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bishop can be a standout player and is one of the best free agents on the market at any position. His health will determine how much interest he gets and how quickly he signs. Bishop was knocked out all last season with a severe hamstring injury.

TEN - S Bernard Pollard thinks team can win it all

Source: The Tennessean - Jim Wyatt

Tennessee Titans SS Bernard Pollard said the believes the Titans have the talent to win the Super Bowl and need to have aggressive attitude on defense. 'Our goal is the Super Bowl, and our mission is to kill,' Pollard said. And if someone doesn't like it, then who cares? I really couldn't care less. It is not our responsibility to make anyone else happy, to please you, to care about you. Our responsibility is to protect LP Field and our responsibility is to steal wins on the road. And our responsibility is to (beat you up) as a defense, and that's what we're going to do on every single play. You have to have that mentality because nobody cares about the Tennessee Titans. Nobody. So you have to take the respect. That's what we have to do.'

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Don't bet your mortgage here. The Titans will go as far as young QB Jake Locker can take them. They're the third best team in their division and it would be difficult for them to even win a Wild Card spot.

SF - DE Justin Smith almost fully healthy

Source: ESPN.com

San Francisco 49ers DT Justin Smith (triceps) said he's 'almost 100 percent' healthy after having surgery on a partially torn left triceps muscle.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Smith was slowed down by the triceps injury towards the end of last season. At full strength we'll see him dominate at the position once again. A healthy Smith also makes OLB Aldon Smith more effective.
