GB - QB Aaron Rodgers would like more balanced offense

Source: Milwaukee Journal Sentinel - Tyler Dunne

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers said he would like to see the team have a more balanced offense this season because an improved running game would help the passing game. 'The ability to have a balance can give you those eight-man boxes and one-on-one matchups outside and open up some lanes for those guys. We usually win those one-on-one battles. When teams play more Cover 2 and match up or go three over two and trust their front four to not only stop the run but get after the passer, that really makes our job difficult,' Rodgers said.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy owners need to take note here. The Packers haven't had a 100-yard rusher in the last 43 regular-season games (more than twice as long as any other active streak in NFL). That trend needs to change and it's why the team selected both Eddie Lacy (Alabama) and Jonathan Franklin (UCLA) in the 2013 NFL draft. We could see more balance from the team's offense this season.

PIT - Mike Adams expected to miss 6-8 weeks

Source: NFL Network - Aditi Kinkhabwala

Updating a previous report, Eric Metz, agent for Pittsburgh Steelers OT Mike X. Adams (stomach), said Adams will be sidelined six to eight weeks after being stabbed in the stomach but will be ready for the start of training camp.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Adams is fortunate this wasn't much worse. Getting him back for training camp will be huge for the team. They need their O-Line to stay healthy and gel to protect QB Ben Roethlisberger better in 2013.

TEN - TE Delanie Walker could undergo MRI

Source: The Tennessean - John Glennon

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (knee) likely will undergo an MRI if his knee is still bothering him Monday, June 3. He said he injured his knee during practice Thursday, May 30, but does not believe the injury is serious.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Walker is set to be the Titans lead TE now that Jared Cook (Rams) has moved on in free agency. He's a talented player who creates mismatches on the field but he needs better concentration. As a member of the 49ers Walker had six drops in 2012 and a dropped 18.2 percent of his targets last year.

BUF - RB C.J. Spiller expects more carries

Source: NFL Network - Lindsay Rhodes

Buffalo Bills RB C.J. Spiller intimated that he expects to get the ball more in 2013, after being asked his thoughts on head coach Doug Marrone's statement that he'd go with the hot hand at running back.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy owners need to take note here. Unlike former Bills head coach Chan Gailey, new coach Doug Marrone is going to use Spiller in all game situations. That should lead to better numbers in 2013. Spiller's current ADP is RB8 and he's coming off the board at 1.08 in 12 team leagues.

DEN - RB Knowshon Moreno injury update

Source: The Denver Post - Jeff Legwold

Denver Broncos RB Knowshon Moreno (knee) underwent a stem-cell procedure to help his recovery. Broncos head coach John Fox said Moreno will be brought along slowly and will contribute when the doctors say he is fully recovered.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Moreno and Willis McGahee are competing for one spot on the Broncos roster. Rookie Montee Ball and second-year RB Ronnie Hillman are expected to be the team's top two RBs in 2013. Moreno is good in pass protection and a good receiver out of the backfield. Those attributes could win him a job on the team.

NFL - QB Tim Tebow's father refutes report that his career is over

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Updating previous reports, Bob Tebow, father of free-agent QB Tim Tebow (Jets), said the report that stated that his son indicated that his NFL career is probably over is false.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Tebow's football career is unlikely to be over but there are some who think he has to go to a lower level like the Arena League. Others think he needs to change positions to Fullback, H-back, or Tight End if he wants to make it in the NFL. As of right now Tebow is not on the NFL radar but that could change as we get closer to training camp.

BUF - TE Dorin Dickerson asks to go back to TE

Source: BuffaloBills.com - Chris Brown

Buffalo Bills head coach Doug Marrone said the team was going to use TE Dorin Dickerson at wide receiver during organized team activities, but Dickerson asked with work as a tight end because several tight ends were not taking part in the workouts. Marrone said he believes Dickerson could help out as a tight end as well as a wide receiver.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Dickerson is one of the more versatile players in the league. He is built like a super sized WR and can line up inside or outside. Even with his versatility we're not expecting much from Dickerson in 2013.

BAL - TE Ed Dickson looking to build chemistry with QB

Source: BaltimoreRavens.com - Ryan Mink

Baltimore Ravens TE Ed Dickson had been working on improving his chemistry with QB Joe Flacco this offseason and hopes to get a bigger role in the offense this season. He said his shoulder injury was the reason he was able to play only 11 games. He ended last season with 21 receptions for 225 yards and no touchdowns.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Dickson needs to stay healthy and prove himself as a capable target in 2013. The Ravens traded away WR Anquan Boldin and will have a different looking passing game this season. We've heard the team intends to run more 2TE sets featuring Dickson and Dennis Pitta.

SD - WR Keenan Allen still not fully recovered

Source: NationalFootballPost.com - Dan Pompei

San Diego Chargers WR Keenan Allen (knee) still has not fully recovered from his knee injury. The team expected Allen to run a slow 40-yard dash before the draft because of the injury. They believe his tape says he plays at a 4.55-second speed, which is fine with them.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

A PCL injury is not as serious as a MCL or ACL injury but it still takes time to heal. The team will be cautious with the rookie as he comes back from this knee problem. Allen is a talented WR with the ability to make difficult catches in clutch situations. He'll compete for playing time behind Danario Alexander and Vincent Brown in 2013.

CIN - QB Josh Johnson could have chance to win No.2 QB job

Source: NationalFootballPost.com - Dan Pompei

Cincinnati Bengals QB Josh X. Johnson has a legitimate chance to win the No. 2 quarterback job because offensive coordinator Jay Gruden was an offensive assistant with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when they selected Johnson. The team could also use Johnson's athletic ability with a read-option package for him.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Johnson is one of the more athletic backup QBs in the league today. It's a bit of a concern that he wasn't able to make the 49ers roster last year and couldn't beat out Scott Tolzien. Johnson played in college (San Diego) under 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh yet didn't impress enough to earn a spot behind Colin Kaepernick. Now that he's with the Bengals he should be able to secure the QB2 job behind Andy Dalton.

CLE - QB Jason Campbell working with backups

Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot

Cleveland Browns QB Jason Campbell has been working mostly with the second-team offense during organized team activities. Campbell could see more time with the starting offense once training camp starts.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

No surprise here. Brandon Weeden and Campbell are competing for the starting job but it's Weeden who is considered the frontrunner. Campbell may not see the field in the regular season unless Weeden struggles mightily.

TEN - Andy Levitre expects to be ready for camp

Source: The Tennessean - John Glennon

Tennessee Titans OG Andy Levitre (knee) said his recovery from offseason surgery is going slower than expected but he expects to be ready for the start of training camp.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Levitre was a prize addition for the team in free agency. He and first-round RG Chance Warmack should immediately upgrade the Titans ground game. Both Chris Johnson and Shonn Greene will benefit from the improved O-Line in 2013.

BAL - Jim Caldwell praises WR Deonte Thompson

Source: The Baltimore Sun - Aaron Wilson

Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Jim Caldwell had positive things to say about second-year wide receiver Deonte Thompson, who's expected to be in the thick of the competition for the second and third wideout spots behind Torrey Smith. 'He's a gifted route-runner, and he is getting better,' Caldwell said about Thompson. 'He's young, and he's developing. ... He understands how to sink his hips. He can do a great job of changing direction.'

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Thompson is incredibly fast and some are predicting he has the lead for the team's WR2 job opposite Torrey Smith. We'll see him compete with Jacoby Jones for that job in training camp.

CLE - Three competing for CB job

Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot

Cleveland Browns CB Christopher Owens, Buster Skrine and Leon McFadden will be candidates for one of the starting cornerback jobs during training camp.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The starting job opposite Joe Haden is wide open. McFadden (San Diego State) was added in the third-round of the 2013 NFL draft. He's a scrappy player with the speed to get in the back pocket of receivers he covers. We'll see how this battle shakes out in training camp.
