JAX - No charges against RB Maurice Jones-Drew

Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Updating a previous report, there will be no criminal charges filed against Jacksonville Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew for an incident Sunday, May 26.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Good news for Jones-Drew here. The investigation is ongoing and we'll have to wait and see what the legal process finds. Jones-Drew's agent released a statement saying "As soon as an altercation broke out, Maurice exited the premises."

SEA - Make roster moves

Source: KFFL.com

The Seattle Seahawks waived/injured TE Anthony McCoy (Achilles') and signed T Jake Bscherer Tuesday, May 28. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

No surprise here. McCoy worked as a blocking TE behind Zach Miller. This opens the door for rookie Luke Willson (Rice) to have a bigger role on the team in 2013.

PHI - RB LeSean McCoy back at practice

Source: CSNPhilly.com - Geoff Mosher

Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy (knee) returned to team activities Tuesday, May 28.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The knee problem was a minor one and McCoy is back on the field looking to impress the new staff. He'll be the lead back in an offense that is run heavy. Chip Kelly's Oregon offense ran the ball 685 times in 2012. It wouldn't surprise us if McCoy finished the year as a top 5 fantasy back. Even Bryce Brown has flex appeal every week because of the design of the offense.

DEN - QB Peyton Manning more comfortable

Source: Los Angeles Times - Sam Farmer

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning said he feels more comfortable than he did last year. 'Not that I feel as comfortable as I did in my eighth year in Indianapolis, but it's a heck of a lot more comfortable than I was last year,' Manning said.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Manning's comfort level could lead to career best numbers in 2013. The addition of WR Wes Welker and the new up tempo offense under Adam Gase could put Manning near 5,000 yards passing this season. The Broncos will also be helped by a rejuvenated ground game to keep defenses off balance.

OAK - Rookie QB Wilson looking better than Flynn?

Source: Steve Corkran - Contra Costa Times

Oakland Raiders rookie QB Tyler Wilson (Arkansas) has been looking good in recent OTAs and minicamp. In fact, there are several Oakland beat writer who believe he has looked better than veteran Matt Flynn.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

No surprise here. Wilson was the top QB for both Cecil Lammey and Matt Waldman this year. He's got a gunslinger mentality and is an aggressive passer who loves to challenge a defense vertically. We'll wait until training camp before getting too excited about him beating out Flynn for the starting job in week one. However, many feel Wilson is the QB of the future and could take over at some point during the regular season.

DAL - QB Tony Romo missing work with rookies

Source: ESPNDallas.com - Todd Archer

Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo (back) is missing getting timing down with his rookie wide receivers at organized team activities. Romo is out, recovering from having a cyst removed from his back.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Romo should be ready to go by the time training camp rolls around. In the meantime we'll see Kyle Orton get the first-team reps in practice.

DAL - RB DeMarco Murray hopes to practice Wednesday

Source: ESPNDallas.com - Calvin Watkins

Dallas Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) is hoping to practice Wednesday May, 29. 'I'm feeling great, tomorrow I'm going to get out there with the team a little bit and do some stuff,' he said. 'Just taking it slow and I'm not trying to push it, we don't have a game this weekend. I'm trying to make sure I'm smart and let this thing heal up.'

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Murray's durability issues are a concern for the Cowboys and should be a concern for fantasy owners as well. Those drafting him as their RB2 are taking a big risk given his history of missing time. His current ADP is RB18 and he's coming off the board at 3.04.

KC - WR Dexter McCluster not practicing

Source: The Kansas City Star - Adam Teicher

Kansas City Chiefs WR Dexter McCluster (hamstring) did not participate in practice Tuesday, May 28.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McCluster is an explosive athlete so a hamstring injury could really slow him down. No word on the severity at this time but the team won't rush him back until he's ready.

HOU - RB Arian Foster leaves practice

Source: HoustonTexans.com

Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (calf) left the team's practice Tuesdays May, 28 with a calf issue. Reports are that he was carted off the field. Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said he is concerned about the injury suffered by Foster. 'It's always concerning," Kubiak said. "We'll see what's wrong, see what happens."

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Foster is a superstar in this league but he did have some up and down durability issues in college at Tennessee. The team will monitor him closely to see how severe this injury is.

"I don't think it's anything serious where anybody should be worried or something like that," WR Andre Johnson told the Texans' official website. "I think if it was, he would've said something. You can tell when it's something serious. I've been around it long enough. So, I'm sure he'll be fine. Just give him a little rest; he'll be back out there."

NYJ - RB Mike Goodson practices

Source: New York Daily News - Seth Walder

New York Jets RB Mike Goodson did participate in organized team activities Tuesday, May 28. Goodson was held out workouts last week by the NFL and the team because of his recent arrest.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Goodson's spot on the roster isn't guaranteed after his recent arrest for gun and drug violations. The legal process could grind throughout the 2013 season and the league will wait until that is exhausted before handing out any sort of suspension. This could make Goodson the primary backup behind Chris Ivory when the regular season starts in September.

DAL - RB DeMarco Murray sitting out

Source: ESPNDallas.com - Todd Archer

Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) is not participating in organized team activities Tuesday, May 28, because of a hamstring injury.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The team has to be cautious here. Hamstring injuries can be difficult to deal with and may linger if not given proper time to heal. Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett hopes Murray will participate at some point this week.

PIT - WR Emmanuel Sanders adds some muscle

Source: College2Pro.com - Bo Marchionte

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Emmanuel Sanders said he has added a few pounds of muscle this offseason in order to get ready for the season.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Sanders has to be bigger in order to stand up to the bigger role he's going to see in 2013. With Mike Wallace (Dolphins) moving on in free agency we'll see Sanders assume the Steelers' WR2 role opposite Antonio Brown. His current ADP is WR43 and he's coming off the board at 10.04.

NFL - QB JaMarcus Russell sheds weight

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Free-agent QB JaMarcus Russell (Raiders) is down from 315 pounds to 265 pounds.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Russell has been working out with former 49ers QB Jeff Garcia at T.E.S.T West in California. He would like to make a comeback in the NFL but has been out of the league since 2009. Russell still has a rocket arm and there may be a team interested in bringing him into training camp.

DAL - WR Miles Austin moving well

Source: DallasCowboys.com - Bryan Broaddus

Dallas Cowboys WR Miles Austin (hamstring) has been moving around better in organized team activities than in the past.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Austin only needs to stay healthy in order to play like a top 20 fantasy WR. Durability issues have held him back in recent years. With the emergence of Dez Bryant it will mean more one-on-one coverage for Austin. He should be able to exploit those defensive looks and put up strong WR3 numbers in 2013. His current ADP is WR36 and he's coming off the board at 8.06.

OAK - CB D.J. Hayden injury update

Source: CBSSports.com - Jason La Canfora

Updating a previous report, Oakland Raiders CB D.J. Hayden's (abdomen) issue is not related to a previous heart issue. Hayden is expected to fully recovered for training camp.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Good news for the rookie here. He suffered a freak heart injury in practice last year at the University of Houston after a midfield collision. Hayden underwent a procedure to clear out scar tissue. He remains at a hospital, according to the team.

GB - DT Johnny Jolly not at OTAs

Source: Green Bay Press-Gazette - Mike Vandermause

Green Bay Packers DL Johnny Jolly has not joined the team for organized team activities. Head coach Mike McCarthy said he will address Jolly's situation when he returns to the team.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jolly is attempting a comeback in the NFL after being out of the league for three seasons. He was a 16-game starter in 2009 but was arrested multiple times for drug offenses after that. His roster spot is not guaranteed in 2013.

PIT - S Troy Polamalu willing to work with rookie

Source: College2Pro.com - Bo Marchionte

Pittsburgh Steelers SS Troy Polamalu said he is willing to work with FS Shamarko Thomas. 'I can give him all the experience of football I have to help him avoid all the mistakes I had,' Polamalu said. Polamalu said Thomas is very humble and willing to learn things.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Thomas plays a lot like former Colts' safety Bob Sanders. Like Polamalu, Thomas is a 'seek and destroy' enforcer in the secondary. Thomas needs to show better control when diagnosing plays in front of him. He'll sometimes overrun plays or get caught in the wash as he's looking for the big hit. Working with Polamalu should help that.

ATL - Could be waiting for June to sign DT Richard Seymour

Source: NFL.com - Chris Wesseling

Updating previous reports, the Atlanta Falcons could be waiting until June 1 to sign free-agent DL Richard Seymour (Raiders). They have just $1.8 million in cap space, but that will rise to $6.3 once OL Tyson Clabo's salary comes off the books June 1.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Falcons will have more cap space once June 1st cuts go through. Seymour has stated that he's considered retirement, but we feel the Falcons will make a move here. He'll help their revamped front four on the defensive line and give them more veteran leadership on the defensive side.
