WAS - Robert Griffin thinks he could play in Week 1 without preseason work

Source: The Washington Post - Mark Maske

Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan said QB Robert Griffin III (knee) will have to participate in practice before playing in a game. Griffin said he would be comfortable with playing Week 1 without playing in any preseason games.

When asked if he could see himself starting Week 1 without playing in the preseason he said, "I've thought about that and yeah, I would be comfortable with that," Griffin said after Thursday's offseason practice at Redskins Park. "That's all I can say. I have no control over whether I play in the preseason or not. I would be comfortable running out of the tunnel at FedEx Field with the smoke and everything."

The Redskins are targeting week one as the return for Griffin. We may see him get a little playing time late in the preseason if he's ready. In the meantime Kirk Cousins will get the first-team reps.

STL - Sam Bradford appears to be building chemistry with new TE

Source: St. Louis Post-Dispatch - Joe Lyons

St. Louis Rams QB Sam Bradford appeared to have good chemistry with TE Jared Cook during organized team activities Friday, May 24.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

A good sign for Bradford and an important note for fantasy owners here. The Rams have rebuilt the offense and added high powered weapons in the passing game like rookie WR Tavon Austin and TE Jared Cook. They also upgraded the O-Line when they signed LT Jake Long in free agency. Cook's current ADP is TE13 and he's coming off the board at the end of round eleven. Cook could finish the season as a top 10 fantasy TE and provides good value at his current ADP.

SEA - TE Luke Willson likely to have bigger role

Source: The Tacoma News Tribune - Eric D. Williams

Seattle Seahawks TE Luke Willson likely will receive a bigger role in the offense this season because of the injury to TE Anthony McCoy (Achilles').

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Willson is extremely athletic and is a raw prospect with good upside. Only recently choosing football over baseball Willson will develop his skill set in training camp.

CLE - Being cautious with TE Jordan Cameron

Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot

The Cleveland Browns are taking a cautious approach with TE Jordan Cameron (groin) while he deals with a groin injury because they see him as their starting tight end this season.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Groin injuries can linger. It's important for the Browns to be cautious here. Cameron has good upside as a starter as the former USC basketball star is extremely athletic and causes mismatches on the field.

STL - WR Tavon Austin receiving handoffs

Source: St. Louis Post-Dispatch - Joe Lyons

St. Louis Rams WR Tavon Austin took some handoffs during organized team activities Friday, May 24. Austin rushed for 643 yards and three touchdowns on 72 carries last season at West Virginia. He likely will not receive many carries this season but it is something opponents would have to account for during games.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Defenses will have to prepare for Austin in many different ways. The Rams are intent on using him early and often in 2013.

STL - Four RBs competing for playing time

Source: St. Louis Post-Dispatch - Joe Lyons

St. Louis Rams RBs Isaiah Pead, Daryl Richardson, Terrance Ganaway and Zac Stacy will all be competing for playing time during offseason workouts and training camp.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Rams have an interesting groups of backs here. Richardson is the speed back but some think he lacks the size to be a featured runner. Pead is arguably the most versatile back but he didn't impress as a rookie last year. Stacy may be the sleeper in this backfield. He's built low to the ground and picks up good yards after contact.

MIA - Teammate says Jonathan Martin comfortable at LT

Source: MiamiDolphins.com - Andy Kent

Miami Dolphins C Mike Pouncey said OT Jonathan Martin has been looking very comfortable at left tackle during organized team activities. 'He's more fluid over there,' Pouncey said. 'You can tell when he's kick sliding that way he's more comfortable being in a left-handed stance. Obviously, he wanted to play over there last year but he was forced to play the right side and I think he's going to do a great job.'

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Martin played on the left side in college where he protected the blind side of Andrew Luck at Stanford. He needs to prove he can handle elite edge rushers on the outside as he struggled to stop those kind of players in college. Good thing QB Ryan Tannehill is one of the more mobile QBs in the league. Tannehill also has a good feel for the rush and outstanding pocket presence.

KC - Unsure if TE Tony Moeaki will be ready for start of camp

Source: The Kansas City Star - Adam Teicher

Updating a previous report, Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said he believes TE Tony Moeaki (knee) will be ready for the start of training camp but it is not a guarantee.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Moeaki is a fine prospect but durability has been a problem since his college days. This injury is opening the door for rookie Travis Kelce to showcase his talent.

KC - TE Anthony Fasano thinks offense is TE friendly

Source: The Kansas City Star - Adam Teicher

Kansas City Chiefs TE Anthony Fasano said he believes the offense under head coach Andy Reid will be very tight end friendly this season. 'You can tell they're becoming a very valuable position in this offense. We ultimately determine (how many passes they catch) by how we play, if we make plays, exploit mismatches. The tight ends have a good opportunity in this offense,' Fasano said. The team has used a lot of two-tight end sets since organized team activities began.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

An important note for fantasy owners here. The starter will emerge in camp and perhaps the best option is rookie Travis Kelce.

HOU - Coach says some ahead of WR DeAndre Hopkins

Source: Houston Chronicle - Tania Ganguli

Houston Texans wide receivers coach Larry Kirksey said WRs Keshawn Martin and Lestar Jean are ahead of WR DeAndre Hopkins at this point and will have opportunities to compete with Hopkins for a starting job.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With Hopkins natural skill set we expect him to rise to the top. He reminds many of Reggie Wayne (Colts) because of his route running and strong hands.
