DAL - QB Tony Romo will be ready

Source: ESPNDallas.com - Todd Archer

Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo (back) said he will be ready for training camp in July after having minor surgery to remove a cyst on his back that will keep him out of organized team activities for the next three weeks. 'If this was the regular season and I had to play next week, I could,' Romo said. 'This is just about being smart. That's why I did it now. This will have no effect on training camp. No way will it have an impact. And I still think there's a good chance I'm on the field for minicamp.' The team does not fear that this will be a long-term injury, but they'll be cautious with him. Romo said the cyst was causing a constant ache in his back. QB Kyle Orton will work with the first-team offense with Romo out.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Romo should be good to go for camp and the team will monitor his progress as he comes back from this surgery. He may have more control in the passing game and the team added help in the WR corps. Romo's current ADP is QB12 and he's coming off the board at the beginning of round eight.

DAL - QB Tony Romo unaware of cyst before extension

Source: NFL.com - Marc Sessler

Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo (back) said he didn't know about the cyst on his back when he signed a six-year, $108 million extension in March. Romo said he didn't have any pain in his back until mid-April.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Romo should be ready for training camp, and could even participate during minicamp in June. He feels fully healed after having surgery to remove his cyst.

CLE - Like Jordan Cameron as starter

Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot

The Cleveland Browns really like TE Jordan Cameron as their starting tight end and have been targeting him a lot in organized team activities.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy owners need to take note here. Cameron has been developing his pro game and waiting for a chance to prove himself as a starter. This season he may get his chance. Cameron is a former basketball star from USC and knows how to use his frame to 'box out' defenders. He's very athletic and could be featured in a way similar to what Antonio Gates was under former Chargers head coach (and current Browns OC) Norv Turner.

NE - WR Danny Amendola gets on same page with QB Tom Brady

Source: ESPNBoston.com - Field Yates

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola is working on getting on the same page with QB Tom Brady. The two worked out together earlier in the offseason in California and are now taking part in organized team activities. 'I said it today; he darted me in the chest with one ball, and inside my head I was like, 'Wow, this guy can really wing it,'' Amendola said after Tuesday's practice. 'That's why he's Tom Brady.'

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The chemistry between Amendola and Brady should build quickly. Amendola is set to play the Wes Welker (Broncos) role in the offense this year. The two players have a similar skill set and in fact it was Amendola who followed Welker at Texas Tech. If he can stay healthy for a full season then Amendola should catch over 100 passes in the Patriots' high octane offense.

NYJ - Could name starting QB soon

Source: New York Daily News - Manish Mehta

New York Jets QBs Mark Sanchez and Geno Smith are expected to compete for the starting quarterback job this offseason, but the quarterback competition could be settled well before the team even heads to training camp in July. Offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg wants one of the two QBs to separate himself from the other, and if that happens this week, the team isn't against naming their starter early. 'Common sense tells you that you hope it's quick, but this is going to be a full blown competition. Period,' Mornhinweg said.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

There will be a starter entering training camp but that doesn't mean that will stay the same once the regular season starts. Rookie Geno Smith is looking to prove doubters wrong and it wouldn't surprise us if he beats out Mark Sanchez for the starting job.

DEN - QB Peyton Manning has connection with WR Wes Welker

Source: NFL.com - Marc Sessler

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning already feels like he has some chemistry with WR Wes Welker. 'There's certain guys you just feel like you have timing with right away,' Manning said. 'He's a guy that has a great feel for how to get open, and understands route concepts and, of course, he played in such a sophisticated offense there in New England, so he's a smart player.' The Broncos used three-receiver sets 64 percent of the time last year, but expect that to increase dramatically as they look to create mismatches in the opposing defenses.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Welker was impressive on day one of Broncos OTAs. He still has ankle breaking moves and can get open with ease. He may not catch over 110 passes in Denver but if Welker caught 90 in 2013 we wouldn't be surprised.

CLE - Norv Turner downplays QB Brian Hoyer signing

Source: NFL.com - Kevin Patra

Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator Norv Turner has downplayed the team's signing of QB Brian Hoyer, and Turner also has praised QB Brandon Weeden for his relentless work ethic. 'I think there have been more stories written about Brian Hoyer being a Brown over the last four months than probably any player in history,' Turner said. 'He was released. He was available. He's a guy that has been with some good teams in backup situations. He's played very little football, but I do think we like his skill set.'

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hoyer is a nice backup quarterback but he is a longshot to win the starting job this year. Weeden has to earn the confidence of the front office and has gotten off to a good start in minicamp.

SEA - Russell Wilson more advanced

Source: NFL.com - Marc Sessler

Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said QB Russell Wilson is a million miles ahead of where he was last year. 'He threw a couple of balls today, things that we talked about over the offseason that he'd like to take a shot at, and he did it today just to see what would happen with full awareness of why he was doing it,' Carroll said.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Nothing but good news here. Wilson has improved weapons around him this year as the team traded for star WR Percy Harvin. That makes the Seahawks passing game even more deadly and should help Wilson avoid the sophomore slump.

PHI - RB LeSean McCoy OK

Source: Philadelphia Daily News - Les Bowen

Updating previous reports, Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy (knee) is OK after leaving workouts Monday, May 20, with knee discomfort.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Eagles fans (and McCoy's fantasy owners) can breathe a sigh of relief here. The team will monitor McCoy closely so he doesn't suffer a worse injury to his knee. Philadelphia should be one of the most run heavy teams in the league under new head coach Chip Kelly.

BUF - Robert Woods the No. 2

Source: The Buffalo News - Jay Skurski

Buffalo Bills WR Robert Woods is penciled in as the No. 2 receiver.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

No surprise here. Woods is one of the best route runners in this draft class and has strong hands as well. He should quickly become a favorite of whatever QB wins the starting job in Buffalo.

BAL - Deonte Thompson has inside track

Source: The Baltimore Sun - Mike Preston

Baltimore Ravens WR Deonte Thompson has the inside track to be the No. 2 receiver.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The WR2 job opened up when the Ravens traded Anquan Boldin to the 49ers. Thompson has incredible speed and does a good job running underneath deep passes. He has good concentration and was a standout for the Ravens last year in camp before playing sparingly as a rookie in 2012.

DAL - Demarco Murray dealing with hamstring issue

Source: ESPNDallas.com - Richard Durrett

The Dallas Cowboys are taking a cautious approach with RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) as he deals with a slight hamstring tweak, according to head coach Jason Garrett.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Durability issues have plagued Murray since his days in college at Oklahoma. He's fantastic when healthy but seems to constantly get dinged up. The team will be careful with him as he deals with this latest injury. Backup Joseph Randle is missing OTAs as he comes back from offseason thumb surgery.

MIA - Ryan Tannehill strong in practice

Source: ESPN.com - James Walker

Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill was sharp during organized team activities Tuesday, May 21. Tannehill had big passes to WRs Brian Hartline and Mike Wallace. TE Dustin Keller was impressed with Tannehill’s first practice. “You would think a guy who used to play wide receiver the best thing he does is run the ball,” Keller said. “But he puts the ball right on the money and he’s a good decision maker, as well.”

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Dolphins have been searching for a real franchise QB ever since Dan Marino retired. That's what they have in second-year QB Tannehill. With the improved weapons around him (Dustin Keller, Mike Wallace) we could see Tannehill take a sizable jump in production this season.

BUF - Stevie Johnson back on the field

Source: The Buffalo News - Tim Graham

Buffalo Bills WR Stevie Johnson (back) was back on the field for voluntary offseason workouts after resting because of a lower-back injury. He was running routes during individual drills. 'It definitely feels good to just be out there on the field, even through the little pains I have,' Johnson said. 'It's getting better every week,' he said of the back malady. 'They gave me a six- to eight-week thing to even get on the field, and it's only been about three, so I feel good.'

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This is a good sign for Johnson. Previously he stated that he had no idea when he would be back from this injury. Now that he's returned to the practice field the Bills will monitor him closely so his injury is not aggravated.

SD - Sign Max Starks

Source: Michael Gehlken - San Diego Union-Tribune

The San Diego Chargers signed OT Max Starks (Steelers) Tuesday, May 21. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This was a move the Chargers needed to do. Their offensive line has been a problem for years but they've made strides this offseason to strengthen their tackles. In the first-round they selected D.J. Fluker (Alabama) to play right tackle. Starks should be in line to start for the Chargers on the left side. Protecting QB Philip Rivers will help him bounce back in 2013.

JAX - Scheduled to work out RB Kahlil Bell

Source: Twitter

Free-agent RB Kahlil Bell (Bears) is scheduled to work out with the Jacksonville Jaguars Wednesday, May 21.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bell offers little more than veteran depth if signed. The Jaguars already have a group of Justin Forsett, Denard Robinson, Jordan Todman, Keith Toston and Jonathan Grimes behind starter Maurice Jones-Drew. We don't like Bell more than anyone of those players.

CLE - Make roster moves

Source: ClevelandBrowns.com

The Cleveland Browns were awarded RB Miguel Maysonet (Eagles) off waivers from the Eagles and waived RB Jamaine Cook Tuesday, May 21.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Maysonet has good instincts for running the football. He is built low to the ground and runs with good balance and agility between the tackles. Maysonet will compete with Dion Lewis, Montario Hardesty, Brandon Jackson and Chris Ogbonnaya to fit into the backfield behind starter Trent Richardson.

DAL - WR Dez Bryant found himself

Source: ESPNDallas.com - Todd Archer

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant said he found himself, and that has led to a quiet offseason with no off-field issues. 'I found myself,' Bryant said Tuesday after the Cowboys' first organized team activity. 'I'm comfortable with my life. I'm enjoying being in the NFL. I wish it could've been a couple years back, but I had to go through a couple of things to figure it out. I think I got it and I'm just more focused on my job and doing what I love to do and that's playing football.'

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's good that Bryant is finding peace in his life off the field. With his renewed focus we should see him dominate once again this year. Bryant is a top five fantasy WR as his current ADP is WR4 and he's coming off the board at 2.08.

ARI - TE Jeff King had knee surgery

Source: The Arizona Republic - Kent Somers

Updating a previous report, Arizona Cardinals TE Jeff King (knee) underwent knee surgery early in the offseason. The coaching staff hopes King can return to practice in early June.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

King is competing for a spot on the TE depth chart. He'll compete with Rob Housler, Jim Dray, and rookie D.C. Jefferson during training camp.

SD - Manti Te'o looking good

Source: The San Diego Union-Tribune - Tom Krasovic

San Diego Chargers LB Manti Te'o has been looking good during the team's organized team activities this week, but the team hasn't been in pads yet. Te'o displayed good balance and looked faster than on film while staying low. He looked smooth in pass coverage but not very fluid in his retreat. He lined up next to LB Donald Butler as the 'mike' linebacker in 11-on-11 drills. In rookie drills, he worked at both inside spots. Te'o said the team's 3-4 scheme is similar to what he played in at Notre Dame.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Te'o has to prove critics wrong and show that he can be a three down player at the pro level. He made improvements as a senior at Notre Dame but may have trouble staying with athletic move TEs in coverage.

OAK - DB Charles Woodson returns to Oakland

Source: Josh Dubow, AP

Charles Woodson signed a one-year contract with the Raiders on Tuesday to return to his original team after leaving seven years ago for Green Bay as a free agent.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

I love seeing players return back home like this. Woodson still has something left in the tank and will likely be looking to show teams he can still play.
