NYJ - Tim Tebow cut

Source: New York Post - Brian Costello

The New York Jets waived QB Tim Tebow.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

When the Jets added Geno Smith in the second-round of the NFL draft it became clear they would have to get rid of at least one of their six QBs on the roster. Tebow's time in New York was an unmitigated failure. Not only did they have to trade for him, but the move cost them about $4.1MM total. Tebow's future in the NFL is cloudy right now, especially if he wants to stick at the QB position.

NE - Could show interest in Tim Tebow

Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini

The New England Patriots could consider pursuing free-agent QB Tim Tebow (Jets) this offseason.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This would make a lot of sense. Head coach Bill Belichick was fascinated with Tebow when he came out of college, and offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels (then head coach of the Broncos) made Tebow a first-round pick in 2010. There would be no QB controversy behind Brady and unlike Tony Sparano, McDaniels would be creative enough to use Tebow in many different roles.

MIN - May be open to listening to offers for RB Toby Gerhart

Source: 1500ESPN.com - Tom Pelissero

The Minnesota Vikings likely will be willing to listen to trade offer for RB Toby Gerhart once training camp begins.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gerhart is a stout RB with surprising speed in the open field. Running Back is a devalued position and we're not sure there would be many teams lining up for Gerhart on the trade block. Perhaps if injuries hit at the position then some team would be willing to give up a mid-round pick for Gerhart.

PHI - Matt Barkley ready for minicamp

Source: Philadelphia Daily News - Les Bowen

Philadelphia Eagles QB Matt Barkley (shoulder) said he will be ready to throw during the team's upcoming minicamp. He was not able to throw at the Senior Bowl or NFL Scouting combine because of a separated shoulder.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Don't underestimate the addition of Barkley to the Eagles. He may have slipped to the fourth-round but we expect him to be in the mix for the starting job in training camp. The Chip Kelly system is built around quick decisions from QBs who process information quickly. That's a hallmark of Barkley's game.

JAX (and many other teams) - Not interested in Tim Tebow

Source: USAToday.com - Jon Saraceno

Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan has indicated that the team is not interested in signing free-agent QB Tim Tebow.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Last year Tebow was given a choice by the Broncos. He could either be traded to the Jets or to the Jaguars as the compensation was fairly equal. Tebow chose New York over his hometown and a year later upon his release isn't wanted by the Jaguars.

Multiple teams expressed no interest in Tebow as well Monday and it remains to be seen whether Tebow will make an NFL roster in 2013. We'll see.

KC - Rookie TE Kelce to compete for starting job

Source: Adam Teicher - Kansas City Star

Adam Teicher, from the Kansas City Star, reports rookie TE Travis Kelce will compete with Tony Moeaki for the starting job in training camp. Chiefs coach Andy Reid loves Kelce's versatility, "He doesn't have to play on the line. You can move him out as a wide receiver and he's a legitimate receiver in that spot."

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

No real surprise here. Moeaki is talented but oft-injured while Kelce is a good all around tight end. He's a talented move tight end who can be a factor in the red zone as well as attack the deep middle seam of the defense.

HOU - DeAndre Hopkins expected to start

Source: Houston Chronicle - John McClain

Houston Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins is expected to start opposite WR Andre Johnson this season.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hopkins was a fantastic pick for the Texans in the first-round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He reminds many in the scouting community of Reggie Wayne (Colts) because of his crisp route running, body control, and strong hands. The team has been looking for a quality WR2 to start opposite superstar Andre Johnson and they have that with Hopkins. Fantasy owners should consider the rookie a WR4 with upside.

NFL - RB Ahmad Bradshaw good to go

Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Josh Alper

Free-agent RB Ahmad Bradshaw (foot) received full medical clearance for football activities. Bradshaw had a screw from a previous operation replaced with a new one.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Steelers and the Broncos had shown interest in the veteran runner but that might be waning at ths point. Both teams added rookie RBs in the second-round of the 2013 NFL Draft (PIT, Le'Veon Bell - DEN, Montee Ball). Bradshaw might have to wait until training camp before he gets a shot with another team.

MIA - Several in mix for receiver spots

Source: The Miami Herald - Barry Jackson

Miami Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland said Sunday, April 28, that he is comfortable with what the team has at the receiver position. The team sees upside in WRs Armon Binns and Rishard Matthews, who will compete with former practice squad members Jeff Fuller and Brian Tyms for the No. 4 and 5 receiver jobs. With the team expected to use two tight-end sets, the fourth receiver might play less this year.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fuller has chemistry with QB Ryan Tannehill from their playing days together in college at Texas A&M. He's a player to watch out for in deep dynasty leagues.

BUF - Robert Woods likely to start

Source: The Buffalo News - Tim Graham

Buffalo Bills WR Robert Woods, selected in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft, is likely to be a starter in Week 1 alongside WR Stevie Johnson.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

No surprise here. Woods is a technician at the WR spot and can get open with ease. He has strong hands, good body control, and the quickness to make defenders miss in the open field.

PIT - Jarvis Jones will have chance to win job

Source: Pittsburgh Post-Gazette - Ed Bouchette

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said LB Jarvis Jones will be given the opportunity to win one of the starting outside linebacker jobs. 'Obviously it is difficult when you have established veteran players like we have with a lot of continuity. We are not going to close the door on him or anyone else on earning an opportunity, and that is what this is about. This is about people taking advantage of opportunities so he'll be given that,' Tomlin said.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Steelers know how to draft and develop pass rushers. Jones has the natural athleticism to bend around the corner and the closing speed to zero in on the quarterback. He's known as a speed player but has to learn how to disengage for blocker and add power to his repertoire.

TB - CB Ronde Barber still welcome to return

Source: ESPN.com - Pat Yasinskas

Tampa Bay Buccaneers general manager Mark Dominik said the team is still willing to re-sign free-agent FS Ronde Barber.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Buccaneers have re-worked their secondary this offseason trading for All Pro CB Darrelle Revis and selecting CB Johnthan Banks (Mississippi State) in the second-round of the 2013 NFL Draft. Barber would be a welcome fit at free safety if he decides to stay with the Buccaneers.

MIN - Not ruling out ILB Brian Urlacher

Source: 1500ESPN.com - Tom Pelissero

Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Spielman indicated the team will not pursue free-agent LB Brian Urlacher (Bears) at this point but did not rule out the possibility later in the offseason.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Wouldn't it be fitting for a division rival to pick up Urlacher? He's drawn little interest on the free agent market to this point and may have to wait until training camp to sign with a new team.

ARI - Tyrann Mathieu will not accept a contract without guaranteed money

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Pat Lawlor, agent for Arizona Cardinals FS Tyrann Mathieu, said Mathieu will not sign a contract without any guaranteed money. Lawlor said he expects the Cardinals will look to protect themselves in the deal.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

No surprise here given Honey Badger's off field transgressions. Any bonus Mathieu does receive will come in the form of roster bonuses. SI.com's Peter King reported earlier that instead of a signing bonus, Arizona will offer Mathieu the ability to earn roster bonuses. Mathieu's a talented player but multiple failed drug tests at LSU caused him to get kicked off the team. He's been clean in the pre-draft process and now has contract incentives to stay that way now that he's with the Cardinals.

King also reported the Cardinals will randomly drug test Mathieu as often as weekly after he signs his contract.

BAL - WR Torrey Smith cuts his dreadlocks

Source: Sarah Ellison - BaltimoreRavens.com

Sarah Ellison writes, "The Ravens wide receiver tweeted yesterday morning that he might cut his dreads because he was "getting tired of them,"which was met with opposition from Twitter followers. Some even thought he was bluffing."

He wasn't.
