PIT - Antonio Brown signs extension

Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed WR Antonio Brown to a five-year contract extension worth $42.5 million.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Great news for Brown here, but bad news for Mike Wallace. Brown was set to be a restricted free agent in 2013, but now doesn't have to worry about a contract for a long time. Wallace wants a long-term extension and is staying away from camp after refusing to sign his one-year $2.7MM tender. We'll see if Wallace caves into the team's wishes or if this holdout continues well into training camp.

TB - Doug Martin works with starters

Source: Tampa Bay Times - Stephen Holder

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Doug Martin worked with the first-team offense during practice Friday, July 27.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Martin is competing with veteran LeGarrette Blount for the Bucs starting job. Martin is the better all-around back and reminds some in the scouting community of a little slower version of Ray Rice. We think Martin wins this job and is the team's starter in week one.

KC - RB Jamaal Charles cleared

Source: KCChiefs.com - Josh Looney

Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (knee) passed his physical Thursday, July 26, and has been cleared to practice during training camp.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Getting Charles back in the lineup is huge for the Chiefs. His gamebreaking running style will work perfectly with the battering style of Peyton Hillis. The Chiefs want to get 500 carries on the season which would be plenty of touches for both backs.

MIN - RB Adrian Peterson placed on PUP list

Source: St. Paul Pioneer Press - Brian Murphy

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson (knee) has been placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Peterson claims to be ready to participate in camp, but the Vikings are going to be very cautious with their superstar RB as he comes back from his knee injury. On the camp PUP list he can be activated at any time.

NO - Mark Ingram participates at full speed

Source: New Orleans Times-Picayune - James Varney

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram (knee) ran at full speed during practice Thursday, July 26, and said he is completely recovered from the knee surgery he had during the offseason.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Good news for Ingram here. He had a disappointing rookie season because of nagging injuries and is looking to have a bounce back year. Ingram has a clear role with the Saints and could be their leading rusher in 2012. He could be the battering ram, while Darren Sproles will still be their change of pace back and best receiver out of the backfield.

MIN - WR Percy Harvin reports on time

Source: Minneapolis Star Tribune - Dan Wiederer

Minnesota Vikings WR Percy Harvin reported to training camp on time Thursday, July 26.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Harvin was reportedly unhappy with his role earlier this offseason and threatened to skip training camp. Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier was able to sit down with him during minicamp and work things out. Harvin could be in for a bigger role this season and could finish as a top 10 fantasy WR again this year.

HOU - WR Andre Johnson says he is 100 percent

Source: HoustonTexans.com

Houston Texans WR Andre Johnson said he is fully recovered from the knee surgery he had this offseason and will be able to fully participate in practice.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Johnson will be a top 2 fantasy WR this year and is coming off the board in the early second-round of most drafts.

MIA - QB Matt Moore, QB David Garrard split reps

Source: ESPN.com - James Walker

Miami Dolphins QBs Matt Moore and David Garrard split reps with the first-team offense during practice Friday, July 27. Moore received the first snaps during team drills.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This battle will last through preseason. Early reports indicate Garrard may have the edge, but it's much too early to call.

DET - RB Jahvid Best placed on PUP list

Source: DetroitLions.com - Tim Twentyman

Detroit Lions RB Jahvid Best (concussion) has been placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list. He has not been cleared for contact at this point.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's disturbing that Best is still not cleared months after his last concussion. This will give Mikel LeShoure the first team carries in camp.

SD - QB Kyle Boller signed

Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

The San Diego Chargers have signed free-agent QB Kyle Boller (Raiders) to a one-year deal. Financial terms were not disclosed.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Boller gives them a veteran backup behind Philip Rivers while Charlie Whitehurst is out with an injury. Whitehurst has an MCL sprain and may miss two weeks.

DET - Ryan Broyles placed on NFI list

Source: DetroitLions.com - Tim Twentyman

The Detroit Lions have placed WR Ryan Broyles (knee) on the Non-Football Injury list.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Broyles is trying to come back from a knee injury he sustained last October with the Oklahoma Sooners. No surprise the team is going to be cautious with him at this time. We think Broyles could eventually win the slot WR job for the Lions.

KC - TE Tony Moeaki cleared to practice

Source: KCChiefs.com - Josh Looney

Kansas City Chiefs TE Tony Moeaki (knee) passed his physical Thursday, July 26, and has been cleared to practice during training camp.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Moeaki is a talented move TE but has a long injury history dating back to his days in college.

SEA - WR Antonio Bryant signed

Source: The Seattle Times - Danny O'Neil

The Seattle Seahawks have signed free-agent WR Antonio Bryant (Bengals). Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

There's no guarantee that Bryant even makes the final roster. He spent last year out of football and will have to work hard to get back into shape. The Seahawks worked out Braylon Edwards on Thursday and have been looking for a veteran WR since they cut Mike Williams.

WAS - TE Chris Cooley says he is running at full speed

Source: The Washington Times - Rich Campbell

Washington Redskins TE Chris Cooley (knee) has been able to run at full speed at training camp after struggling with his running during offseason workouts.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We feel Cooley could be on the roster bubble during training camp. He's due $3.8MM this year as a backup behind Fred Davis. The development of former WR Niles Paul (who is now playing TE), plus Cooley's performance in camp will determine his future with the team in 2012.

PHI - TE Brent Celek leaves practice early

Source: Philadelphia Daily News - Les Bowen

Philadelphia Eagles TE Brent Celek (knee) left practice early Thursday, July 26, after suffering a mild knee sprain. He said he will be fine after practice.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If Celek doesn't need an MRI, we can breathe easy. He's so cheap in drafts that this shouldn't affect his stock.

KC - S Eric Berry passes physical

Source: KCChiefs.com - Josh Looney

Kansas City Chiefs SS Eric Berry (knee) passed his physical Thursday, July 26, and has been cleared to practice during training camp.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Berry's return to the field is nothing but a good thing for the Chiefs. He plays like a young Ed Reed, has high football intelligence, and a nose for the ball. Berry will help make up for the loss of CB Brandon Carr (Cowboys) in the secondary.

SF - Aldon Smith says he is healthy

Source: San Francisco Chronicle - Eric Branch

San Francisco 49ers LB Aldon Smith said he is completely recovered the stab wounds he suffered during an altercation this offseason.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Great news for Smith and the 49ers here. Smith is looking to avoid the sophomore slump and should still be one of the best pass rushers in the game today.

CIN - CB Leon Hall says he be able to do everything

Source: Bengals.com - Geoff Hobson

Cincinnati Bengals CB Leon Hall (Achilles') said he will be able to do everything when practice begins but indicated that he will not see many snaps initially and will be monitored during practices.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Coming back from an Achilles injury is a delicate matter, so no surprise the team would be cautious with Hall as he returns. The plan is to have him as close to 100% as possible by the start of the regular season.
