DEN - DE Elvis Dumervil Arrested - No charges filed yet per agent

Source: Scout.com - Aaron Wilson

Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos DL Elvis Dumervil was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a firearm in Miami Saturday, July 14. The case is a third-degree felony. Dumervil was freed on $7,500 bail. 'No charges have been filed,' Dumervil's agent said Sunday, July 15. 'No assault took place and it's likely once the full investigation is complete no charges will be filed against Elvis.'

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Police haven't released any information as to what led to the arrest. The Broncos already have to deal with D.J. Williams six-game suspension and don't need any more offseason trouble.

NE - May not sign WR Wes Welker to deal

Source: ESPNBoston.com - Mike Reiss

The New England Patriots have not been overly active in long-term contract talks with WR Wes Welker and there is a chance the two sides will not able to reach an agreement before the deadline Monday, July 16.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Welker lost all leverage earlier this year when he signed his franchise tender so early in the offseason. The two sides are reportedly $6MM apart in guaranteed money. We'll see if they're able to close the gap over the next 24 hours.

MIA - QB Matt Moore may need preseason to gain edge in QB battle

Source: ProFootballWeekly.com - Kevin Fishbain

Miami Dolphins QB Matt Moore may need to play well during the preseason to get an advantage in his competition with QB David Garrard for the starting quarterback job because he is not considered a great practice player.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

According to reports Garrard has a bit of an edge over Moore at this time. There's not a big gap between the two veterans and the competition could go either way. No matter who wins the starting job at the beginning of the season could eventually be replaced by future franchise QB Ryan Tannehill.

DET - May go with two QB this season

Source: DetroitLions.com - Tim Twentyman

The Detroit Lions may decide to keep only two quarterbacks on their final roster and use the extra roster spot on another position. If the team does keep three quarterbacks, QBs Kellen Moore and R.J. Archer will compete for that spot during training camp.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Moore could stick around on the practice squad because of his accuracy on short throws. His lack of arm strength will continue to hold him back and likely prevent him from developing into a starting quality QB.

SEA - Cutting Mike Williams about dollars and sense

Source: Scout.com - Aaron Wilson

The Seattle Seahawks released WR Mike X. Williams Friday, July 13, and as always in the NFL, it was mostly a business decision. Williams' contract included base salaries of $3 million and $3.4 million in 2012 and 2013, plus $150,000 annual weight clauses. In addition, Williams was also due a $15,625 roster bonus for every game he was active for a total of $187,500, plus a $150,000 workout bonus.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Money has a lot to do with the team's decision, but Williams didn't do himself any favors by failing to reproduce the production he had in 2010. We think Williams will have a tough time catching on with a new team.

DET - QB Matthew Stafford might be in line for new deal

Source: Detroit Free Press - Dave Birkett

The five-year, $100 million contract signed by New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees might play a part in the not-too-distant future for the Detroit Lions and QB Matthew Stafford. Stafford is nine years younger and not nearly as accomplished as Brees, but the two are represented by the same agent in Tom Condon. Stafford has two years left on his rookie contract, but after converting the bulk of his base pay to signing bonuses the past two years, Stafford does have a cumbersome salary-cap number of $20 million in 2013, and $19 million in 2014. That means the Lions might try signing him to a long-term extension next spring.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Stafford is worth the money if he can stay healthy. We're expecting him to get close to 5,000-yards passing in 2012.

SF - Colin Kaepernick expected to hang onto backup job

Source: CSNBayArea.com - Matt Maiocco

San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick is expected to enter training camp as the No. 2 quarterback behind starter QB Alex Smith. However, he'll need to hold off a charge from QB Josh X. Johnson.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We actually like Johnson better in this competition. Johnson was extremely successful QB under Jim Harbaugh in college at the University of San Diego. Kaepernick is not as athletic, but has a stronger arm. He looked raw last year as a rookie and may have a tough time beating out Johnson for the primary backup job.

TEN - Kendall Wright looks like he will enter camp as No. 3 WR

Source: ESPN.com - Paul Kuharsky

Tennessee Titans WR Kendall Wright has a good chance to enter training camp as the No. 3 wide receiver.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

No surprise here. Wright will begin the season behind Kenny Britt and Nate Washington on the depth chart. We like his ability as a slot WR and feel he could develop into a quality target for the Titans in the near future.

HOU - Keshawn Martin may be favorite for No. 3 WR job

Source: ESPN.com - Paul Kuharsky

Houston Texans WR Keshawn Martin may enter training camp as the favorite for the No. 3 wide receiver job. The team will use camp to determine Martin's role in the offense.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Martin is a talented rookie who is effective on underneath routes because of his run after the catch ability. We like Lestar Jean as the favorite to win the WR3 job in Houston. In fact, Jean has the ability to be a quality starter opposite Andre Johnson if he gets the opportunity. He's a big WR who consistently plucks passes out of the air.

CIN - Two will compete for No. 3 QB job

Source: The Cincinnati Enquirer - Joe Reedy

Cincinnati Bengals QBs Zac Robinson and Tyler Hansen will compete for the No. 3 quarterback job during training camp. Robinson has the benefit of being in the system for the year but Hansen did make some good throws during offseason workouts.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Robinson is a smart leader who knows how to distribute the football. He's not the biggest QB but can be accurate on short and underneath routes. Hansen is an impressive athlete but has poor arm mechanics. His ability to keep plays alive could earn him a spot on the practice squad as a developmental prospect.

MIA - Jeff Fuller may have trouble making roster

Source: The Miami Herald - Barry Jackson

Miami Dolphins WR Jeff Fuller showed some flashes during offseason workouts but he may have a hard time making the final roster. Fuller has some drops during the workouts which was a problem he had during his college career.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fuller had an extremely disappointing senior season at Texas A&M. He's helped out by the fact he played with QB Ryan Tannehill and under OC Mike Sherman in college. We think he could stick on the Dolphins as a practice squad player.

MIA - Jonathan Martin needs work before starting at RT

Source: The Miami Herald - Barry Jackson

Miami Dolphins OT Jonathan Martin will need a lot of work at right tackle before he can start at the position because he played left tackle in college and is not used to the right side.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Transitioning to the right side should be an effective way to get the most out of Martin's skill set. He's big and powerful but struggles against elite edge rushers.

MIA - Roberto Wallace impresses during workouts

Source: The Miami Herald - Barry Jackson

Miami Dolphins WR Roberto Wallace impressed the coaching staff with how he used his size and speed during offseason workouts. Wallace was able to make several tough catches during the workouts.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Dolphins won't have a high flying passing game, but Wallace is an interesting prospect to keep an eye on in super deep dynasty leagues.

DAL - WR Dez Bryant feeling stronger

Source: The Dallas Morning News - Jon Machota

Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant is feeling 'a lot stronger' this offseason, and his body fat was recorded last month at 3.1 percent.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bryant is taking his conditioning seriously and that should help him perform better during the regular season. He's one of the most physically gifted WRs in the league and could be a top 5 player at his position if he can play up to his potential.
