Hi Folks,

HUGE day here. The Footballguys Interactive Magazine is finally ready.

It's changed significantly since we first started talking about it. Here's the scoop.

First thing. And it's a big one. You'll notice the name is not the Footballguys Interactive iPad Magazine any longer. That's not a coincidence.

We've made the decision to release this content as a web subscription sold by Footballguys instead of the iTunes Store. It'll be similar to the Footballguys Insider Subscription. It's still $4.99. But the difference is that we redesigned it so that it will look great not just on the iPad (it does) and not just Android tablets (it does), but also on laptop and desktop computers. We say it's not meant for smart phones but I have to say that much of it looks good on my Android phone (although if you complain about it not looking good on your phone, the answer is it's not meant for smart phones).

Bottom line is we've decided to make the Footballguys Magazine available to a much bigger group of people than just the folks that own iPads as we'd originally intended. And to make sure we didn't water down the iPad user experience that does have the cool swipeable technology stuff the iPad offers, there are actually two versions of the subscription. One that is optimized for the iPad. The other that is for Android tablets, and desktop / laptop computers.

I'd be lying if I didn't say we came to this decision all on our own. The reality is that the Apple / iTunes store had a good bit to do with it. Apple didn't like some of the things we had in the app that made it easy for us to have multiple versions of this. They rejected our initial app and gave us a pretty severe list of changes we had to make in order to comply with their system. We made the decision to go a different direction and offer it as a web subscription.

The downside is that we won't be in the iTunes store. That's a pretty big thing as if something sells well in the iTunes store, it can see really nice exposure. And everyone we've demoed this to has been blown away so I feel good that it would have sold well there. But the reality is we decided not to play within the Apple framework and instead open the app up to everyone.

Second thing. For 2012, we've decided to make the Footballguys Interactive Magazine part of the Footballguys Insider Subscription If you purchase the Insider for this year, you'll receive access to the Interactive Magazine free of charge. Note that this is for 2012 only. For the guys that purchase a multi year subscription, 2012 is the only year we're promising the Magazine will be included. That may change, but for right now, that's where we are.

Third thing. For people that buy the Magazine only, they can upgrade to the full Insider Subscription at a later date and receive credit of $4.99 towards the price of a Footballguys Insider subscription. We know that when the subscriber wall goes up next week and much of the Footballguys content becomes for Insider subscribers only, there are still lots of people that want to see at least some of the content. The Magazine won't have nearly as much content or as much detail as the Insider subscription. We want the people that purchase the Insider to have an advantage over the Magazine and they will by having full access to everything. Plus features like the Draft Dominator and the $35,000 Subscriber Contest that are only available on the Insider. But it will be a way for people to try some of the pay content out and then hopefully like what they see enough to upgrade to the full Insider. Remember that the Magazine content only runs through the preseason.

You can see the features highlighted here.

You can see a breakdown of how the Magazine features compare to the Insider features.

Thanks for your patience. And I hope you guys like the changes we made making it available on laptops and desktops as well as iPad and Android tablets. I think you're going to like this a lot.

And thanks to all the FBG Staffers that have been killing themselves on this. Very proud of our guys here. Download this bad boy and let's get started on Dominating Your League.

As if the Magazine unveiling wasn't enough, we've got the news and notes ready for you as well (even if most of the stories are about Josh Gordon...). Let's get to it.

A. Footballguys Interactive Magazine
Free to subscribers and just $4.99 to everyone else. This is the magazine to HAVE this preseason. Built for tablets, but will work on computers, laptops and most of it even looks/works great on phones.

NFL - Six teams with multiple reps at WR Gordon's workout

Source: John McClain - Houston Chronicle

John McClain, from the Houston Chronicle, reports via Twitter that there were 21 teams on hand for Josh Gordon's pro day. There were six teams with multiple representatives at the workout.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McClain didn't reveal who the six teams were, but we'd expect the Browns, Dolphins, Cowboys, Bills, Redskins, and the Eagles to show extra interest in the talented WR.

NFL - WR Gordon interviews well

Source: John McClain - Houston Chronicle

John McClain, from the Houston Chronicle, reports via Twitter that former Baylor WR Josh Gordon interviewed well at his pro day. Gordon said all the right things, and admitted he was suspended by Baylor after a failed drug test (marijuana). Gordon said he learned his lesson and vowed never to do it again.

More good news for Gordon's workout here. Off field concerns could give teams pause when considering the talented WR in the Supplemental Draft. Gordon ran a slower than expected 40 time (4.5) but impressed scouts by working through a quad injury and not dropping any passes during his workout.

NFL - WR Gordon slow 40 'not a big deal' for scouts

Source: Cecil Lammey - 102.3 ESPN Denver, Footballguys.com

Cecil Lammey, NFL Insider for 102.3 ESPN Denver and senior writer for Footballguys.com, reports via Twitter that a source in the scouting community told him that Josh Gordon's slower than expected 40-yard dash time is 'not a big deal.' Some thought Gordon to run in the high 4.3 or low 4.4 range, but he clocked in at 4.5 during his Tuesday workout in front of representatives from 21 NFL teams.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gordon's lack of preparation time, plus reported quad injury led to the slow time. However, he impressed scouts by continuing the workout and not dropping a pass. This 40-time is unlikely to hurt his draft stock. Some say Gordon could go off the board with the third-round pick in Thursday's Supplemental Draft.

CHI - QB Jay Cutler making better decisions

Source: ProFootballWeekly.com

Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler was knocked by scouts early in his career for making poor decisions, but he has cleaned up the mistakes over the years. '(Cutler is) managing the game better,' a league evaluator said. 'He's not making as many dumb mistakes. He's not forcing the ball as much. In Denver, he was spraying the ball all over the place.'

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cutler could finish the year as a top 10 fantasy QB. Mike Tice is the new Offensive Coordinator for the Bears and he should have an offense designed around quick decisions. This will help Cutler avoid the rush and get the ball into the hands of his playmakers quickly so they can rack up yards after the catch. Cutler will also be greatly helped out by the addition of WR Brandon Marshall, who was his favorite target when they were with the Broncos.

NFL - WR Gordon hurt quad during workout

Source: Tony Pauline - TFY Draft

Tony Pauline, from TFY Draft and Sports Illustrated, reports via Twitter that former Baylor WR Josh Gordon pulled/hurt his quad during his 40-yard dash. He continued with the workout and reportedly did not drop a pass.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The injured quad would help explain the slower than expected 4.5 40-yard dash. Even with the injury it sounds like Gordon put on an impressive show at his pro day.

DAL - Three likely to begin on PUP

Source: DallasCowboys.com - Josh Ellis

Dallas Cowboys CB Mike Jenkins (shoulder), OG Mackenzy Bernadeau (hip) and WR Danny Coale (foot) are expected to begin camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

A big setback for the rookie Coale here. He's competing with Kevin Ogletree and Dwayne Harris for the WR3 job behind Miles Austin and Dez Bryant. Coale is likely to be ready for some preseason games, but we'll see how much this injury impacts his chances of winning the slot WR job before the regular season.

BUF - RBs to be on field together more

Source: BuffaloBills.com - Chris Brown

Buffalo Bills RBs Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller are expected to be on the field together more often this season.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

No surprise here. The Bills will use both players as runners and receivers out of the backfield, but we still see them as RB2/flex options with upside. Jackson is going off the board at RB15 near the top of the 3rd round, while Spiller is drafted at RB32 near the mid 7th round.

SEA - Three WRs considered locks for 53-man roster

Source: The Seattle Times - Danny O'Neil

Seattle Seahawks WRs Doug Baldwin, Sidney Rice and Golden Tate are the only receivers of the 13 on the team considered to be locks for the 53-man roster.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Rice and Baldwin should have the most fantasy value, while Tate is an emerging talent to keep an eye on. Rice needs to stay healthy in order to play up to his potential, and Tate needs to continue his development as a route runner. Rice has the most upside, but Baldwin might be the safer pick.

BAL - S Ed Reed sends shot at management

Source: The Baltimore Sun - Matt Vensel

Baltimore Ravens FS Ed Reed sent a loud message to Ravens management on his Twitter account recently as he tweeted: 'Back home with my son, he's riding his bike (and) I'm doing yard work! Tell the bosses I'm comfortable!' Reed has skipped voluntary mini-camps and could be trying to gain leverage for a new contract. He'll make $7.2 million in the final year of his deal.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Reed has to get in line. The Ravens have yet to come to an agreement with Franchise RB Ray Rice or QB Joe Flacco. We expect Rice to be signed before the July 16th deadline for Franchise players. Flacco may have to wait until next offseason before he gets a new deal. Reed may be unhappy, but the reality is he's likely to show up to training camp on time.

DEN - DE Robert Ayers entering crucial year

Source: ProFootballWeekly.com

Denver Broncos DL Robert Ayers is reportedly entering a crucial year. The former first-round pick is a starter, but he hasn't been much of a factor in his three NFL seasons. Ayers has managed a total of just 39 tackles in each of the past two seasons and he has 4 1/2 career sacks. Ayers has a lot to prove in 2012.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Broncos made plenty of additions to their Defensive Line this offseason, and Ayers is in a make or break year. Just like fellow 2009 first-round pick Knowshon Moreno, Ayers has failed to live up to his potential as a pro. We did see improvement from Ayers last year as he switched from Outside Linebacker to his natural position of Defensive End. We'll see if that trend can continue in 2012 as Ayers will battle Broncos second-round pick Derek Wolfe for a starting job.

That'll do it for today, Folks. Thanks for reading and we'll see you tomorrow with the update.
