Hi Folks,
Good Monday to you and I hope you're set for a great Holiday Week. You hopefully have a day off sometime but we'll keep working for you to get all the news and notes you need. So let's get to it. JSITE NEWS
A.

B.
Average Draft Position - PPR
The same Average Draft Position data but in this one, it's for leagues with Points Per Reception (PPR) scoring.

HOU - Have not had contract talks with QB Matt Schaub
Source: The Sports Xchange - Len Pasquarelli
The Houston Texans have not had serious contract extension talks with QB Matt Schaub at this point but are expected to do so later this summer.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Many feel a new deal will be reached before the start of the regular season as Schaub is entering the final year of his contract. If no deal can be made, the Texans could always choose to place the Franchise Tag on Schaub in the offseason. Durability is the only concern with the veteran QB.
CLE - Jordan Cameron is team's future at TE
Source: ESPNCleveland.com - Tony Grossi
Cleveland Browns TE Jordan Cameron is considered the team's future at tight end. TE Benjamin Watson is in the final year of his contract, so Cameron is therefore likely to see a bigger role in the offense, not TE Evan Moore.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Cameron is a converted basketball star with limited experience as a TE. His route running needs improvement, but his natural athleticism makes him a good move TE who can attack the deep middle seam. If he plays up to his potential then he could be a poor man's version of Saints TE Jimmy Graham.
NYJ - Stephen Hill working on his route running
Source: The Sports Xchange - Len Pasquarelli
New York Jets WR Stephen Hill said he has been working on his route running this offseason because he only ran a limited number of routes during college. 'There are adjustments, reads on the run, all the fine-tuning stuff, and you've got to develop a connection (with the quarterback). You can have all the (physical) skills in the world, but you have to get the mental and technique things down even more,' Hill said.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
All Georgia Tech WRs must work on their route running because of their run heavy triple option offense. We like Hill to start this year opposite Santonio Holmes, and he could flourish as a downfield (and red zone) target because of his size/speed combination.
MIA - Clyde Gates struggling with offense
Source: South Florida Sun-Sentinel - Omar Kelly
Miami Dolphins WR Clyde Gates struggled during offseason workouts because he is having a hard time picking up the team's new west coast offense. He likely will be in a competition for the final receiver spot on the roster when training camp begins.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
This isn't good news for the speedy WR. Gates skill set is more of a downfield guy than an underneath precision route runner. He's an odd fit in the Dolphins new system and is certainly on the roster bubble.
NFL - QB Daunte Culpepper says career over
Source: Orlando Sentinel - Craig Castille
Free-agent QB Daunte Culpepper (Lions) said he does not expect to play again and has moved on with his life. 'As far as me playing, I think I am done," Culpepper said. 'That part of my book is closed. The next chapter is, I have kids and I will be coaching them.'
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
He'll be getting his roll on somewhere on the golf course during his retirement.
CHI - Have taken out seven-step drops for QBs
Source: FOXSports.com - Alex Marvez
Chicago Bears OT Gabe Carimi said offensive coordinator Mike Tice has taken out the seven-step drop for the quarterbacks from the playbook. The change is expected to help the offensive line block for QB Jay Cutler better.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
There's not many teams who use seven-step drops, but the Bears did under former OC Mike Martz. The Bears O-line is suspect, so getting the ball out of Cutler's hands quickly should really help. If Cutler can stay healthy we like his chances of finishing as a top 10 fantasy QB in 2012.
NE - TE Daniel Fells did not take part in offseason program
Source: ESPNBoston.com - Field Yates
New England Patriots TE Daniel Fells (ankle) is still considered the leader for the third tight end job, although he did not take part in organized team activities (OTAs) or minicamp. Undrafted rookie TE Tyler Urban and TE Alex Silvestro are the only challengers to Fells.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Fells is is recovering from an ankle injury, and we don't think his absence will hurt his chances to make the team. He's a veteran TE who gives the Patriots quality depth as a blocker and receiver at TE3.
MIA - WR Brian Hartline was absent due to appendectomy
Source: The Miami Herald - Barry Jackson
Miami Dolphins WR Brian Hartline (appendectomy) said Saturday, June 30, that he is recovering from an appendectomy, but he is expected to be fine for training camp.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Dolphins lack quality weapons at the WR position, and they certainly need Hartline to be healthy and play in the rotation. He should begin the season as the team's top WR, but will compete for targets with Chad Ochocinco and Davone Bess.
CLE - H-back battle might get heated
Source: ESPNCleveland.com - Tony Grossi
Cleveland Browns FB Owen Marecic is the incumbent at the position, but he is viewed as a mostly blocking fullback. TE Brad Smelley has the versatility as a pass receiver, but he is not a true lead blocker. Lastly, TE E. Alex Smith is also in the mix for H-back duties. Two of those players might not make the 53-man roster.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Smelley has been impressive this offseason according to reports, but he's not the all-around player that Marecic is. If the battle is close perhaps the Browns could place Smelley on the Practice Squad to develop as a rookie.
NYG - DT Chris Canty wants to be leader
Source: The Star-Ledger - Mike Garafolo
New York Giants DL Chris Canty (knee) said Saturday, June 30, that he wants to make his teammates better through his performance, and be a leader in the locker room. Canty was able to post a career-high four sacks, but he said he is looking for bigger and better things in 2012.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Canty says he's no longer inhibited by his surgically repaired knee and should be ready for the start of training camp.

Updating a previous report, San Francisco 49ers LB Aldon Smith (abdomen, shoulder) suffered minor stab wounds at a house party Saturday, June 30. The wounds occurred as Smith attempted to break up a fight, and he likely was stabbed by a pocketknife. The location of the wounds are believed to be in his shoulder and abdomen.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
We're glad Smith was not more seriously hurt in this incident. It's a cautionary tale for every player in the league.
That'll do it for today, Folks. Thanks for reading and for letting us be a part of your Fantasy Football Season. We'll see you tomorrow with the update.
Peace, J
