DET - Mikel Leshoure expects to be ready for Week 1

Source: DetroitLions.com - Tim Twentyman

Detroit Lions RB Mikel Leshoure (Achilles') has said he expects to be fully recovered by the start of the regular season. He hopes to be ready to participate once training camp starts and has been on schedule in his rehab.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Achilles' injuries are more complicated than knee injuries but LeShoure will be 12 months removed from this injury in August. He'll be a limited participant in OTAs and minicamp but should be ready by training camp. LeShoure may be facing a suspension because of two offseason marijuana possession arrests.

DET - RB Jahvid Best expected to be ready for camp

Source: DetroitLions.com - Tim Twentyman

Detroit Lions general manager Martin Mayhew said RB Jahvid Best (concussion) likely will get clearance for full contact sometime in June and is expected to ready for the start of training camp.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Best has fantastic talent and is a great fit for the Lions offense. He's a dangerous weapon because of his speed and quickness in the open field. If Best can stay healthy he should be the Lions lead back in 2012.

PIT - WR Mike Wallace not expected to be at OTAs

Source: Pittsburgh Post-Gazette - Ed Bouchette

Pittsburgh Steelers restricted free-agent WR Mike Wallace is not expected to participate in organized team activities this week because of his uncertain contract status.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Wallace wants a long-term deal, but contract talks have gone nowhere yet. He has until June 15th to sign his $2.7MM tender or the Steelers can drop his salary to $577,000. We have a feeling Wallace will sign his tender and is unlikely to miss any time in the regular season.

CAR - Coach not worried about slump for Cam Newton

Source: Charlotte Observer - Joseph Person

Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera said he is not worried about a possible sophomore slump for QB Cam Newton because he expects Newton to work hard and not let it happen. 'I will say this about a sophomore slump if there's anybody that's going work through it, he's going to work through it. When the season was over, one of the things he said was he wanted to find a way to make sure he didn't have one. I think the less we talk about it, the less we get caught up in it, the better,' Rivera said.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Newton flashed incredible athleticism last year as a rookie but don't overlook the fact that he made several good throws from the pocket. He's known to have a strong work ethic and will work hard to avoid any sophomore slump.

MIA - Do not want to rush Ryan Tannehill

Source: Palm Beach Post - Brian Biggane

Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross said the team does not want to rush QB Ryan Tannehill into playing time because they want to develop him as their quarterback of the future.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Tannehill had limited starting experience in college but knows the Dolphins offense better than the veteran QBs on the team Matt Moore and David Garrard. That's because his college coach, Mike Sherman, is the Dolphins new offensive coordinator.

CLE - WR Carlton Mitchell could get playing time

Source: ESPNCleveland.com - Tony Grossi

Cleveland Browns WR Carlton Mitchell could receive some playing time this season if he is able to stay healthy during training camp.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mitchell was able to outrun Colt McCoy's passes because of his long speed, but that won't happen if Brandon Weeden wins the starting QB job. He's got a good size/speed combination and could be used to stretch the field for the Browns.

ARI - Stephen Skelton has chance to make roster

Source: ProFootballWeekly.com

Arizona Cardinals TE Stephen Skelton has a good chance to make the final roster this season after spending part of last season in the practice squad.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Skelton is the younger brother of Cardinals QB John Skelton. He's got decent hands and does a good job of keeping defenders away from the ball when passes come in.

NYG - Rueben Randle will have chance for No. 3 WR job

Source: ProFootballWeekly.com

New York Giants WR Rueben Randle will be given every opportunity to win the No. 3 wide receiver job during training camp.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He'll have to compete with Ramses Barden and Jerrel Jernigan in camp for the job, but we think he's the favorite to win. Randle is the most physically gifted and has drawn comparisons to the Buccaneers Vincent Jackson.

GB - WR Donald Driver could stay with discount

Source: ProFootballWeekly.com

The Green Bay Packers are not ruling out the possibility of keeping WR Donald Driver on the roster but it may have to include a pay cut for it to happen.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Driver has publicly stated that he'll be a "Packer for life." We think he stays in Green Bay, but will reduce his salary to a more cap friendly number.

OAK - Juron Criner could move up depth chart fast

Source: ProFootballWeekly.com

Oakland Raiders WR Juron Criner has been impressive during offseason workouts and has a chance to quickly move up the depth chart because of his size and strength.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We love Criner's game. He's strong, has good concentration, and has shown the ability to consistently pluck passes out of the air. Criner also has the ability to catch poorly thrown passes because of his body control. Some in the scouting community compare his skill set to that of Saints WR Marques Colston.

SD - QB Philip Rivers working on building rapport with new WRs

Source: North County Times - Scott Bair

San Diego Chargers QB Philip Rivers said he has been working on building a rapport with WRs Robert Meachem, Eddie Royal, Micheal Spurlock and Roscoe Parrish because it will be easier to him to communicate with them and understand their tendencies.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Rivers believes he and his new WRs can create chemistry at offseason workouts. Losing WR Vincent Jackson in free agency could negatively impact this team if Robert Meachem doesn't work out.

DET - WR Nate Burleson likely will make team

Source: DetroitLions.com - Tim Twentyman

Detroit Lions WR Nate Burleson likely will make the final roster even if WR Ryan Broyles jumps over him on the depth chart.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Earlier this offseason Burleson agreed to restructure his contract to save the team some cap space. Broyles is talented but may have to begin the season on the PUP list as he recovers from the knee injury he sustained last October.

BUF - DE Mario Williams wants to play LDE

Source: NationalFootballPost.com - Dan Pompei

Buffalo Bills DE Mario Williams asked the team to use him at left defensive end this season because he is more comfortable on the left side than the right side.

[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Super Mario will get what he wants. Veteran free agent addition Mark Anderson should start as the right Defensive End.
