TEN - Titans Have Free Agent RB Jones On Their Radar

RB Kevin Jones has already worked out for the Tennessee Titans once this offseason and they are continuing to show interest in the former Lion RB. Jones will work out again for pro scouts and the Titans are expected to be in attendance.

Tennessee is one of several teams that will be looking at Jones. It's an interesting group of free agent RBs all with some serious downside. Jones with his injury and guys like Cedric Benson and Travis Henry who are very talented but can't get the off the field / mental part of the game down.
CHI - Bears Turning Attention To KR/WR Hester
Source: Carol Slezak, Chicago Sun Times
After signing DT Tommie Harris earlier this week, the Chicago Bears will now focus on signing KR/WR Devin Hester to a contract extension, according to GM Jerry Angelo. But the Bears aren't making any promises.
"We certainly want to take care of Devin," he said. "He certainly deserves our attention. We've talked to his agent, and we'll just have to wait and see."[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
And after Hester, Brian Urlacher is peering over the fence looking for his new deal. Should be interesting to see how they spread the wealth.
NYG - RB Bradshaw Could Face Suspension
Source: Ohm Youngmisuk, New York Daily News
The NFL and commissioner Roger Goodell is looking into the case of Giants RB Ahmad Bradshaw, who is currently in a Virgina jail serving a 30 day sentence.
"We are looking into it to determine whether he is subject to discipline," said Greg Aiello, the NFL's senior vice president of public relations. Bradshaw's supporters argue that the running back has done nothing wrong since being drafted by the Giants in the seventh round last year and that he is only serving jail time because of a prior offense - which is reportedly sealed because it occurred when Bradshaw was a juvenile. The Giants argued as much in a statement on Thursday.[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Just reinforcing what we told you earlier this week about Bradshaw. The landscape is a little different in the NFL now. Players have to worry about not just the legal system but the NFL offices as well.
SD - Chargers Attempting To Trade WR Parker?
Source: Kevin Acee, San Diego Union Tribune
Sources are reporting that the San Diego Chargers are making WR Eric Parker available in a trade, following the signing of WR/KR Mark Jones. According to reports, Parker will either be released or traded by the start of training camp next month. Parker is a former starter for the Chargers but has battled injuries recently.
General Manager A.J. Smith declined comment. "We don't discuss our football business," Smith said. Parker's agent, Jack Bechta, is expected to take a role in facilitating a trade, though he said he was just learning about the situation. "If this is happening, I will get involved," Bechta said. "I will start taking the lead. With the relationship I have with the front office and the respect Eric has garnered, I'm sure they'll let us participate in the process."[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The official word from the team is no comment. So we'll see how this goes. Obviously, if he's your guy, be careful here as he's looking expendable.
RB Anderson Suspended For One Year
Source: Howard Balzer, FoxSports.com
Former Baltimore Raven and Denver Bronco RB Mike Anderson has been suspended one year by the NFL for violation of the league's substance abuse policy. He was suspended four games in 2003 while with the Broncos.

Sad to hear as I always liked Anderson's tough running style. So much for that.
DEF - MIN - DE Udeze To Undergo Bone Marrow Transplant
Source: Chip Scoggins, StarTribune.com
Minnesota Vikings DE Kenechi Udeze, who was diagnosed with an acute form of leukemia in February, will undergo a bone marrow transplant early next month.
He will undergo the procedure with his older brother, Thomas Barnes, who is a 100 percent match. "I'm going in with the biggest no-worry look on my face," Udeze said.[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Best wishes to Udeze. He has a great attitude about this. "Right now I'm doing pretty good," Udeze said. "I'm actually getting tired of people asking me how I'm doing because I know I'm going to be all right, and I want everybody to start thinking the same way."
DEF - MIA - GB - Odds Not Good For DE Taylor To Green Bay
Source: Greg A. Bedard, Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel
Bedard writes that he was asked today (several times, actually) in the chat over on Packers Insider what he thought the odds were of Jason Taylor actually being traded to the Packers.
He said, "Not good, from what I've learned the past couple days. I'd put the odds at 10 to 20 percent, and that might a little optimistic."[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
It's all speculation at this point but there had been some rumblings about Taylor to Green Bay. Bedard has a good feel for the situation there and he doesn't see much chance of it happening.
DEF - CHI - Bears Extend DT Harris' Contract In 'Classy' Negotiation
Source: Carol Slezak, Chicago Sun Times
A day after agreeing to a four-year contract extension, defensive tackle Tommie Harris had only praise for the Bears organization.
"There wasn't a rush to get things done," Harris said Friday at Halas Hall. "I would love to get it done because you don't want to become a distraction to your teammates. I would never go out and talk about the Bears in front of media or disrespect my team. This is not something that had to be done. But they were generous enough to do it." "We handled this whole situation very classy," he said. "We didn't try to go out there and talk about one another or dispute things. I feel like we did keep it all in house. When you have a family or a business ... you [should] keep everything in house."[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ OUR VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Bears GM Jerry Angelo Described Harris as one of the team's "signature players," and said the three-time Pro Bowler represents the organization "very well, not only on the football field but off the field."
Doesn't take a lot to read between the lines there on that last sentence and see the Cedric Benson reference. That'll do it for today, Folks. Have a great Sunday and we'll see you tomorrow with the update.
