Sunday, Sept. 18
Baltimore at Tennessee
The Ravens are 7-6 lifetime against the Titans
- The Ravens were 3-5 on the road last season
- The Ravens threw 54 passes a week ago against the Colts. That likely won't
happen this week.
- RB Jamal Lewis ran hard but averaged only 3 yards per carry in week one.
Don't expect the Titans to slow him down like that.
- Lewis hasn't had a 100-yard rushing game against the Titans but has carried
the ball 57 times for 252 yards with a single score.
- QB Anthony Wright will start for the Ravens against the Titans. His last
regular season start came in week seventeen of 2003 against the Steelers
- As a Raven, Wright has completed 113 of 209 passes (51.7%) for 1413 yards
(6.76 YPA) with 10 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
- Former Titan WR Derrick Mason caught 8 passes for 99 yards in his season
debut. It is the 9th time he has missed out on a 100-yard game by two yards
or less
- Mason had 12 passes thrown his way while Mark Clayton and Clarence Moore
each had 8
- Rookie Mark Clayton caught 5 passes for 44 yards in his debut. He looked
quick and could improve as the year wears on.
- The Titans were 2-6 at home last season
- The Titans allowed the Steelers to rush for 206 yards in week one on 41
carries and gave up two rushing touchdowns
- The Titans allowed nine of eleven passes against them in week one to be
complete for a staggering 19.8 YPA
- The Titans rushing attack did fine in week one with 21 carries for 98 yards
with Chris Brown leading the way with 63 yards on 11 carries
- QB Steve McNair has found his TE position again. 11 of his 18 attempts went
to the TE in week one.
- In five games against the Ravens, QB Steve McNair has
- Completed 97 of 178 passes (54.5%)
- Thrown for 1,022 yards (205 yards per game with a YPA of 5.74)
- Tossed only 4 touchdowns against 5 interceptions
- Rushed for 112 total yards but hasn't scored a rushing touchdown
- Had two games with more than 18 fantasy points and three games with
less than 13 fantasy points
Buffalo at Tampa Bay
The Bills are 2-5 lifetime against the Buccaneers
- The Bills were 4-4 on the road a year ago but won their final four after
starting the season 0-4 away from Buffalo
- RB Willis McGahee carried the ball 22 times for 117 yards (5.3 YPC) and
caught 3 passes in week one but didn't score
- McGahee has now had eight games with 100-yards rushing but only two have
come on the road
- QB J.P. Losman had a solid first game in week one completed 60.7% of his
throws for 170 yards and a touchdown
- WR Lee Evans has had four games with 90+ yards receiving and three have
come on the road
- WR Eric Moulds went up against the Buccaneers during the 2000 season and
caught 8 passes for 102 yards and a score
- The Buccaneers were 4-4 at home last season
- What a debut for rookie RB Carnell Williams. He gained 148 yards on 27 carries
(5.5 YPC) including a 71-yard touchdown
- WR Joey Galloway had 5 receptions for 97 yards in week one. He has now had
24 receptions for 339 yards and 4 touchdowns over his past four regular season
games
- WR Michael Clayton has had at least 50 receiving yards in thirteen of his
last fourteen games. Only the Falcons in week 13 last year held him under
that mark
- QB Brian Griese has now thrown at least one touchdown pass in every game
as a Buccaneer starter (22 TD passes in twelve games)
- On the flip side, Griese has also thrown at least one interception in eight
straight games
- The Buccaneers defense caused five turnovers in last week's game against
the Vikings
Detroit at Chicago
The Lions are 62-83-5 lifetime against the Bears
- The Lions have defeated the Bears in each of the last three meetings by
a total of twelve points
- The Lions were 3-5 on the road last season after losing 24 consecutive road
games during the 2001-2003 seasons
- The Lions haven't scored more than 20 points in a game against the Bears
over the last five meetings
- The Lions are blessed with three terrific young receivers but they only
caught a total of 4 passes for 47 yards in week one
- RB Kevin Jones had 25 carries for 87 yards in week one but his longest run
of scrimmage was only 7 yards
- Is QB Joey Harrington a 'Must-Not' start this week? In six games against
the Bears, he has
- Completed 113 of 204 passes (55.4%)
- Thrown for 1,183 yards (5.8 YPA)
- Tossed only 3 touchdowns against 5 interceptions
- Never exceeded 14 fantasy points in a game
- In two career games against the Bears, RB Kevin Jones has 40 carries for
159 yards, 2 receptions and a score
- In two games against the Bears, WR Roy Williams has 7 receptions for 102
yards with 0 touchdowns
- The Bears were 2-6 at home last season
- The Bears carried the ball 16 times for only 41 yards a week ago against
the Redskins
- The Bears longest gain from scrimmage in week one was only 22 yards by rookie
receiver Mark Bradley

The Jaguars are 2-6 lifetime against the Colts but have split the season series
in each of the last two years
- The Jaguars were 5-3 on the road last season including a win in Indianapolis
- The Jaguars scored 26 points in week one. They reached that mark only twice
a year ago
- QB Byron Leftwich threw for 252 yards and 2 passing touchdowns in week one
- WR Jimmy Smith caught 7 passes for 130 yards and 2 touchdowns in week one.
That was his best fantasy performance since week one of the 2001 campaign
- In six games against the Colts, Smith has
- Three games with 100 receiving yards
- Four games with at least 1 touchdown receptions (five total touchdowns
scored)
- 32 receptions for 530 yards
- In three starts against the Colts, Leftwich has
- Completed 64 of 93 passes (68.8%)
- Thrown for 797 Yards (8.6 YPA)
- Tossed 4 touchdowns against only 1 interception
- Had 19+ fantasy points in all three games
- RB Fred Taylor touched the ball 22 times for a total of 90 yards in week

Minnesota at Cincinnati
The Vikings are 5-4 lifetime against the Bengals
- The Vikings were 3-5 on the road last season
- The Vikings haven't had a winning record on the road in a season since 1998
- QB Daunte Culpepper finished with 9.9 fantasy points last week. That was
his worst performance since the 2002 season against the Giants (8.8 FP)
- Culpepper has had thirty-three games with 25+ fantasy points. Don't panic
yet Culpepper owners
- Culpepper didn't throw a touchdown pass for the first time since week twelve
of 2003 against the Lions
- Last week, Michael Bennett and Moe Williams combined for 14 rushing yards
on 12 carries. Ouch!
- Not a great start for WR Burleson in week one. Hardly making Viking fans
forget about Randy Moss, he only caught 3 passes for 45 yards
- Burleson was targeted only 7 times in week one. Expect that number to go
up substantially
- The Bengals went 5-3 at home last year
- The Bengals haven't had a 10-win season or better since the 1988 campaign
(16 long seasons)
- QB Carson Palmer had a strong first week with 280 passing yards and 2 touchdowns.
That was his third best fantasy week as a pro
- RB Rudi Johnson was the 5th best fantasy back a week ago, scoring 19.8 fantasy
points. That was his fifth best fantasy performance
- Rudi Johnson had his tenth career 100-yard rushing game
- WR Chad Johnson caught 9 passes last week for the fifth time in his career.
He had 91 receiving yards but didn't score a touchdown
- Johnson caught 9 of the 10 passes thrown his way in week one.
- The Bengals leading receiver in terms of fantasy production in week one
was Kevin Walter with 10.7 fantasy points
- RB Chris Perry had 5 receptions for 37 yards in his best game during his
brief NFL career
New England at Carolina
The Patriots are 1-1 lifetime against the Panthers during the regular season
but also defeated the Panthers in the Super Bowl XXXVIII
- The Patriots are 12-4 on the road over the past two seasons
- Tom Brady was the fourth best fantasy quarterback in week one. He had 23.2
fantasy points (306 passing yards and 2 passing touchdowns)
- Despite only rushing for 63 yards on 23 carries (2.7 YPC), RB Corey Dillon
finished third in fantasy points at running back for week one thanks to two
rushing touchdowns
- WR Deion Branch had 7 receptions for 99 yards and a touchdown in week one.
That was the third best fantasy game of his career
- WR David Givens was a disappointment in week one with only two receptions
for 31 yards.
- Branch was targeted 11 times while Givens was targeted 5 times in week one
- The Panthers were 3-5 at home a year ago but did win three of their final
four home games
- RB Stephen Davis appears as strong as ever. He finished 11th in fantasy
points for the week with 81 rushing yards and a touchdown
- Davis has only had one multiple-touchdown game as a Panther
- RB DeShaun Foster also had a solid week with 9 carries for 41 yards and
3 receptions. He will continue to split time with Davis
- WR Steve Smith had a great week one with 8 receptions for 138 yards and
a score. That was his third best fantasy game
- Smith was targeted 13 times in week one
- Smith has never had a multiple-touchdown game
- QB Jake Delhomme struggled last week and finished 22nd overall in fantasy
points with only 14.3 points
Pittsburgh at Houston
The Steelers lost the only meeting to the Texans 24-6 back in 2002
- The Steelers went 7-1 on the road last season but only 2-6 the season before
- What sophomore slump? Despite only throwing 11 passes, Ben Roethlisberger
finished 10th in fantasy points last week with 19.4. That was his 3rd best
fantasy effort
- Fast Willie Parker exploded onto the scene in week one, finishing as the
top fantasy running back with 26.9 fantasy points. That was the best fantasy
score by a Steeler running back over the past four seasons (2nd best was the
26.7 FP put up by Jerome Bettis in 2001 against the Buccaneers)
- WR Antwaan Randle El caught only 2 passes but finished tenth in fantasy
points thanks to a long touchdown reception
- WR Hines Ward caught only 2 passes for 25 yards last week, crippling fantasy
owners
- More surprisingly, Ward was only targeted two times
- In his only game against the Texans, Ward caught 9 passes for 76 yards
- The Texans went 3-5 at home last season and have never finished with a
winning record at home
- QB David Carr was terrible in week one. He rushed for 40 yards and a touchdown
but only completed 9 of 21 passes for 70 yards with 3 picks
- Carr's passing performance was his worst since week two of 2002 when the
Chargers held him to 6 of 25 passing for 87 yards and 2 picks
- RB Domanick Davis was brutal in week one. He finished with only 48 rushing
yards on 14 carries and caught only 2 passes
- Keeping with the theme, Andre Johnson was also brutal catching 3 passes
for a minuscule 18 yards
- Johnson was surprisingly only targeted 7 times in week one.
San Francisco at Philadelphia
The 49ers are 17-7-1 lifetime against the Eagles which includes a win over
the Eagles in Philadelphia during the 2003 season
- The 49ers went 1-7 on the road last season and have only two road wins over
the last two seasons
- Big props to the 49ers who stunned the football world with a solid win against
the Rams in week one
- QB Tim Rattay played a very good game last week. He only threw 16 passes
but completed 11 for 165 yards and tossed 2 touchdowns
- RB Kevan Barlow was terrible in week one, gaining only 22 yards on 14 carries
but managed to score a touchdown to earn some fantasy points
- RB Frank Gore outplayed his teammate in limited duty, rushing for 17 yards
on 4 carries and catching 2 passes for 21 yards
- WR Brandon Lloyd caught 3 passes for 65 yards and scored a touchdown last
week
- In week sixteen of 2003, Barlow had his best game as a pro while playing
the Eagles. He gained 154 yards on 30 carries and scored 2 touchdowns
- In his only game against the Eagles, Lloyd caught a touchdown pass (week
sixteen of 2003)
- The Eagles went 7-0 at home last season before resting most of their starters
in week seventeen in a loss to the Bengals
- QB Donovan McNabb was the 19th best fantasy quarterback in week one and
rushed for zero yards. That was only the eleventh time he failed to register
at least 10 rushing yards
- WR Terrell Owens caught 7 passes for 112 yards in week one and was targeted
18 times. He failed to score though
- RB Brian Westbrook was pedestrian rushing the ball against the Falcons,
gaining only 47 yards on a dozen carries
- Westbrook shone though in the passing game with 7 receptions for 64 yards
and a touchdown and finished as the 9th best fantasy running back
- Westbrook was targeted 11 times in week one, easily the most targeted running
back.
Atlanta at Seattle
The Falcons are 2-7 lifetime against the Seattle Seahawks
- The Falcons went 4-4 on the road last season and lost three straight road
games at the end of the season
- The Bad: QB Michael Vick threw only 156 yards on 12-23 passing against the
Eagles, had no touchdown passes, was intercepted once and fumbled twice
- The Good: Vick ran for 68 yards on 11 carries, scored a touchdown and finished
as the 9th best fantasy quarterback
- RB Warrick Dunn continues to run the ball well for the Falcons. He gained
117 yards on 21 carries
- RB T.J. Duckett carried the ball only 8 times for 15 yards but did score
a touchdown
- TE Alge Crumpler caught 4 passes for 54 yards in week one and was targeted
9 times
- WR Michael Jenkins was only targeted 4 times but caught 3 passes for 80
yards and missed a long touchdown by inches
- In his only full game against the Seahawks, Vick finished with 22 fantasy
points (2002 season) on 21-38 passing for 240 yards and 2 touchdown passes
- In two games against the Seahawks as a Falcon, Dunn has gained 233 rushing
yards on 45 carries and caught 9 passes. He hasn't scored though
- In his one game against the Seahawks (2002) Crumpler caught 5 passes for
75 yards and scored at touchdown
- The Seahawks went 5-3 at home a year ago and have gone 13-3 at home over
the past two seasons
- QB Matt Hasselbeck finished 11th in week one in fantasy points but threw
3 interceptions
- RB Shaun Alexander was only the 32nd best fantasy running back in week one,
gaining 73 yards on 14 carries and not catching a pass
- Alexander was not even targeted once last week in the passing game
- Receivers Bobby Engram and Darrell Jackson led the way with 9 targets apiece
with TE Jerramy Stevens close behind with 7.
- Jackson caught 6 passes for 65 yards and a touchdown while Engram caught
8 passes for 79 yards
- Stevens only managed to catch 3 passes for 41 yards
- In two games against the Falcons, Hasselbeck has thrown for 489 yards, 3
touchdowns, 1 interception and finished above 19 fantasy points in both games
- In two games against the Falcons, Alexander has carried the ball 47 times
for 207 yards and scored 3 touchdowns. He was above 15 FP in both games
- In two games against the Falcons, Jackson has caught 10 passes for 117 yards
and a touchdown
St. Louis at Arizona
The Rams are 31-22-2 lifetime against the Cardinals but lost last season in
Arizona 31 to 7
- The Rams went 2-6 on the road last season
- Despite the loss to the 49ers in week one, QB Marc Bulger was the leading
fantasy quarterback with 25.9 fantasy points
- RB Steven Jackson only gained 60 yards on 19 carries against the 49ers in
week one
- WR Torry Holt caught 10 passes for 125 yards in week one but didn't score.
That was the 7th time he caught 10 passes
- WR Isaac Bruce only caught 3 passes but did gain 61 yards and scored a touchdown
- Holt was targeted 16 times while Bruce was targeted only 6. Surprisingly
Kevin Curtis was targeted 14 times and Shaun McDonald 10 times
- Only two passes were thrown to the tight ends
- In five games against the Cardinals, Bulger has
- Never had less than 16.6 fantasy points
- Thrown for 1,437 passing yards
- Tossed 8 touchdowns but been picked off 10 times
- In six games against the Cardinals, WR Isaac Bruce has
- Two games with more than 15 fantasy points
- Four games with less than 6 fantasy points
- 29 total receptions and 2 touchdowns
- In six games against the Cardinals, WR Torry Holt has
- Three games with 14+ fantasy points
- No games with less than 6 fantasy points
- 41 receptions in five of the games
- Only 1 reception in the sixth game but he scored on that play
- The Cardinals went 5-3 at home last season including a win against the
Rams
- QB Kurt Warner threw for 264 yards and a touchdown in his first action as
a Cardinal player
- Both running backs, J.J. Arrington and Marcel Shipp were invisible in week
one (only 15 rushing yards combined)
- WR Larry Fitzgerald had a monster week one, catching 13 passes for 155 yards
and scoring a touchdown
- Fitzgerald was targeted 15 times, Anquan Boldin 9 times and Bryant Johnson
11 times
- Boldin caught 4 passes for 62 yards while Johnson caught only 2 of the 11
passes thrown his way
- In three games against the Rams, Boldin has caught 17 passes for 257 yards
and 2 touchdowns. He has one game with 27.1 FP and the other two were under
9 FP
- Last season, Fitzgerald caught 8 passes and scored twice against the Rams
in two games
Cleveland at Green Bay
The Browns are 6-9 lifetime against the Packers
- The Browns have had two winning season over the last dozen years (69 wins
and 123 losses)
- The Browns went 3-5 at home last year but lost their last five
- QB Trent Dilfer threw for 278 yards and a touchdown (against 2 interceptions)
in week one
- RB Reuben Droughns had 100 total yards on 15 touches (12 carries for 78
yards)
- Surprise player of the week, WR Frisman Jackson had 128 receiving yards
on 8 receptions and scored a touchdown
- The passes were spread around nicely. WR Antonio Bryant had 10 targets,
Jackson and Dennis Northcutt had 9 and Braylon Edwards had 5
- Bryant had 5 receptions for 65 yards, Northcutt 4 receptions for 16 yards
and Edwards 2 receptions for 16 yards
- TE Steve Heiden was targeted 5 times and caught 3 of them for 32 yards
- The Packers went 4-4 at home last season but did win four of the last five
in Green Bay
- The Packers haven't had a losing record at home since the 1991 campaign
when Mike Tomczak led the team in passing attempts
- QB Brett Favre was the 31st ranked fantasy quarterback last week, finishing
with only 8 fantasy points
- RB Ahman Green carried the ball 12 times for 58 yards and caught 5 passes
- WR Donald Driver was the top Packers receiver finishing with 48 yards on
4 receptions
- WR Robert Ferguson caught only 1 pass for 4 yards
Miami at New York Jets
The Dolphins are 38-40-1 lifetime against the Jets and lost both games a year
ago by a combined score of 23 to 58
- Last season the Dolphins had their first losing record since the 1988 season
- The Dolphins went 1-7 on the road last season
- Gus Frerotte was the 6th best fantasy quarterback last week, finishing with
21 fantasy points which was his 4th best performance since the 2000 season
- RB Ronnie Brown carried the ball 22 times but only gained 57 yards. He finished
as the 34th best running back
- WR Marty Booker was the 8th best fantasy receiver, catching 5 passes for
104 yards and scoring a touchdown
- WR Chris Chambers caught 5 passes for 40 yards and had a 61 yard run
- TE Randy McMichael caught 6 passes for 55 yards and a touchdown
- In six games against the Jets, McMichael has
- Three games with 8+ fantasy points and three games with 5.1 or less
fantasy points
- 25 receptions for 296 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns
- In seven games against the Jets, Chambers has
- One game with 9 receptions for 153 yards and a touchdown for 21.5 fantasy

in his career

The Chiefs are 46-42-2 lifetime against the Raiders and have won the past four

- The Chiefs have a deadly two-headed monster at running back. Both Larry

- WR Plaxico Burress had a great first game with the Giants (5 receptions,
76 yards, 1 touchdown) and finished as the 12th best fantasy receiver
- Burress was targeted 11 times in week one while Toomer saw only 4 passes
thrown his way
- In the 2003 game, Barber rushed for 37 yards on 11 carries and caught 5
passes. He didn't score though.
