Game of Skill
The Contest is a game of skill. Winners are determined by the objective criteria set forth below. From all entries received, winners are determined by the individuals who use their skill and knowledge of relevant professional football information and fantasy football rules to accumulate the highest point totals during the Contest according to the official Contest rules.
The deadline to register for this contest is 2pm ET, September 1st.
Begins three days before the first 2005 NFL regular season game and ends five days after the last game of NFL Week #16 (spanning the first 16 weeks of the NFL season).
If for any reason, the National Football League amends any portion of its regular season schedule, Footballguys.com reserves the right to determine prize winners based on an amended Subscriber finals system. Footballguys.com reserves the right to make any and all reasonable scheduling and finals changes if the NFL alters its schedule. In the event that the NFL cancels any part of its regular season schedule, Footballguys.com reserves the right to determine prizes based on the NFL games already played.
Each participant will be randomly assigned to his/her bracket. Participants will be notified of their bracket placement in advance of the start of the NFL regular season. Notification will be made by email and/or by posting the brackets on the official FFTOC website (www.fftoc.com).
The Contest will utilize tournament software by Pieracle, Inc. and run from the FFTOC website (www.fftoc.com).
The FFTOC tournament management software was designed to keep track of tournament reporting, starting lineup submissions, fantasy point calculations, bracket and overall standings, and finals rankings. All NFL player statistics will be provided by a third party and will serve as the standard for all scoring. Pieracle Inc. will serve as the Commissioner of the 2005 FFTOC as it relates to decisions and rulings regarding the tournament.
Any and all scoring discrepancies affecting a team must be noted and submitted via email to firstname.lastname@example.org by midnight ET on the Tuesday following the completion of that week’s games. After 6:00 PM ET on Wednesday of any given week, all scores will be considered final. It will be up to the sole discretion of Footballguys.com as to whether a change in the official statistics of a player can reasonably be applied to amend the FFTOC rankings or scoring of any or all teams potentially affected by the change in a player’s statistics.

OK. enough of the lawyer stuff...Here is the meat you need to know about.
The 2005 Subscriber Contest will consist of one giant league broken into 600 team brackets. It is free to subscribers. The regular season will extend from NFL week 1 through NFL week 12. The top 600 highest scoring teams those first 12 weeks will advance to the Finals, which will run from NFL week 13 through NFL week 16.
Prior to week 1 of the NFL regular season the Player Pool will be populated. This Player Pool will include approximately 500 NFL players that are on current NFL team rosters. No practice squad players will be included and all players will be assigned a position based on their official NFL designated position.
Once Play Begins, Any player in the Player Pool who has to-date not been started by a team manager is available to that team manager for their starting lineup. Once an NFL player has been started by a team manager that player is no longer available to that team manager to use in his starting lineups for the remainder of the Contest regular season and Finals. While software is provided to aid each Manager, it is each manager's responsible for making sure they do not start a player more than once a season. If a manager starts a player more than once and the system determines this after NFL action starts that week, all players started more than once will receive a zero score for that manager for that week.
Starting in NFL week 1, all team managers will fill out their starting lineup by selecting from the initial Contest Player Pool of NFL players. After the start of the NFL regular season, if a player is added to an NFL team roster, they will be added to the official Player Pool and made available the following Tuesday. Beginning in NFL week 2 and for all successive NFL weeks, team managers will continue to select from the Contest Player Pool any player they want as starters but will be unable to choose any NFL player that they have already used.
Lineups Requirements: Starting lineups will consist of the following
2 Running Backs
3 Wide Receivers
1 Tight End
1 Place Kicker
1 Team Defense/Special team
League Management Web Address
You can access your team via the internet by going to http://www.fftoc.com.
Lineups must be submitted via the "My Team" web page at http://www.fftoc.com
Starting players must be submitted into your starting lineup 10 minutes before their game kicks off.
Committed Starting Players
A starting player is considered "committed" to your lineup as of 10 minutes before their game kicks off. Non-committed players in a starting lineup can be changed up to 10 minutes prior to their game kicking off. For example, players committed by a Contest team manager at kickoff of a Thursday game can not be changed, but the non-committed starting lineup players can be up until 10 minutes before their game kicks off (e.g. Sunday morning). This rule applies to non-committed players in a Monday night game also. For example, non-committed starting lineup players following Sunday’s games may be changed to another available player up until 10 minutes before kickoff of the Monday night game.
No Starters Submitted
Failure to submit a lineup will result in zero points.
Calculations: Scoring will be calculated out to the hundredth for all players (e.g. 23.15).
NFL Players: Quarterbacks, Running Backs, Wide Receivers, Tight Ends and Place Kickers may score from any position on the field in the following manner:
6 points for touchdowns scored passing, receiving, rushing, fumble recovery, punt or kick return.
0.04 point for each yard passed. (e.g. 200 yards passing equals 8.00 fantasy points)
0.1 point for each yard rushed or received. (e.g. 83 combined yards equals 8.3 fantasy points)
2 points for each 2-point conversion passing, receiving, rushing or fumble recovery.
3 points for each field goal kicked.
1 point for each extra point kicked.
Note: To clarify, all NFL Players are graded out using the following formula.
Points = rushyds/10 +recyds/10 +passyds/25 +6*fumtd +6*intTD +6*kickretTD +6*puntretTD +6*passTD +6*runTD +6*recTD +6*othertd +xpm +3*fgm +2*2ptrun +2*2ptrec +2*2ptpass
In other words, all players get credit (+/-) for their stats.
Team Defense / Special Team
6 points for touchdowns scored on kick returns, punt returns, interception return, fumble return, blocked field goal return, missed field goal return, blocked punt return. (NOTE: touchdowns scored on "fake" field goals or "fake" punts do NOT count as a defense/special teams score. Touchdowns scored by the offensive team after a blocked field goal or blocked punt do NOT count as a defense/special teams score)
1 point per turnover.
1 point per sack.
2 points per safety.
Varying points for points allowed by team defense: equal to 15 points MINUS the amount of points the defense allows, regardless how scored by the opponent. Please see table below for exact scoring breakdown.

Regular Season Bracket Winners
At the end of NFL week 12, the team that has the highest total points within their bracket will be deemed the bracket winner for purposes of prize awards.
NFL week 12 signals the end of the Contest Regular Season and the brackets are then disbanded. The top 600 highest scoring teams from the regular season advance to play for four more weeks during the Finals (week 13-16). In the event of a tie in total points scored for the determination of the top 600 of contestants, all tying teams will share the same ranking.
The Contest Finals
The Contest Finals will exist for NFL weeks 13, 14, 15 and 16. During those four weeks, the resulting total scores of each team will be used to determine the final rankings based on highest total points scored. All points accumulated by teams during the first twelve weeks of the season have no bearing on the Contest Finals other than determining the contestants who qualify to advance to the Finals. During these four weeks, team managers will still only be able to start players that they have not yet used in the Regular Season or Finals.
Contest Finals Winners
At the conclusion of the FFTOC Finals, teams will be ranked based upon total points scored during the four Finals weeks.
