Quarterback
QB Rohan Davey (ARI) has been signed by the team as a backup to Josh McCown with Kurt Warner injured. [Tue Sep 27, 9:23 PM]
QB Kurt Warner (ARI) is expected to sit in week four in order to rest his groin, and there is talk that he could miss up to a month. Josh McCown will start in his place. That should spur ticket sales in Mexico City. [Tue Sep 27, 5:54 PM]

QB Rex Grossman (CHI) is still out with his broken ankle and will miss another 8-11 weeks. [Tue Sep 27, 5:51 PM]
QB Kyle Orton (CHI) does not need to be looking over his shoulder. According to coach Lovie Smith, the only way we'll see backup Jeff Blake is if Orton is injured. "Jeff will play when there's an injury," Smith said. "Kyle is our quarterback. He's going to get all the reps. He's not looking over his shoulder." [Tue Sep 27, 9:56 PM]
QB Jeff Garcia (DET) is still out with his broken leg and will miss another 3-5 weeks. [Tue Sep 27, 5:51 PM]

QB Tom Brady (NE) practiced on Wednesday and Thursday and will start as normal in week four. [Thu Sep 29, 9:29 PM]
QB Brooks Bollinger (NYJ) is set to start for week four, but the team doesn't sound too confident. We expect Vinny Testaverde to be the guy soon. Said coach Herman Edwards, "Well, the plan right now is for Brooks Bollinger to be the starter (in week four). That's the plan. We'll see where Brooks is at. We'll wait and see. You got to let the poor guy play, see what he can do." [Tue Sep 27, 5:47 PM]
QB Jay Fiedler (NYJ) may be able to return to action this season, but the status of his shoulder is still very much in question. [Wed Sep 28, 8:22 PM]

[Tue Sep 27, 5:51 PM]
QB Vinny Testaverde (NYJ) worked with the second team in Wednesday’s practice. The team still plans to start Brooks Bollinger this week but we look for Testaverde to be the starter sooner rather than later. [Wed Sep 28, 8:31 PM]
QB Vinny Testaverde (NYJ) signed with the Jets today. Brooks Bollinger is set to start this week but we look for Testaverde to be the guy there sooner rather than later. Said coach Herman Edwards, "He's a veteran guy, that's why he's been in the league for so long. He has a gift. He still has the ability. Vinny can get up at three in the morning and still throw one out, can cut as good as anybody in the League. He can do that. It is just the way, he's born that way. It's just something that he can do."
[Tue Sep 27, 9:05 PM]
QB Donovan McNabb (PHI) has improved each day according to coach Andy Reid. He will start as normal. "It looks like he's gotten a little bit better each day," Reid said after Friday's practice. "He ran around pretty good today. He's a pretty tough guy," Reid said. "Players like to play, and that's how he is. You see that a lot with offensive and defensive linemen. When they're banged up they don't say much and just sort of move on. And he kind of conducts himself like an offensive or defensive lineman."

Head athletic trainer Rick Burkholder said McNabb has a chronic lower abdominal strain, but noted: “this is something you can play with.” McNabb took part in Wednesday's morning walk-through and said afterward that he's confident in his abilities to lead the team. “I don't have any concerns right now,” McNabb said. “It's one of those things where you have to realize some days you'll feel fine and some days you won't.”
McNabb will eventually need surgery to correct the sports hernia but plans to wait until the season is over as he obviously does not want to miss the two to three months it would take to recover. [Wed Sep 28, 8:26 PM]

QB Philip Rivers (SD) wants to play and is tired of sitting the bench. “That’s not something I want to do or I’m going to do,” says Rivers. “I’m going to get my shot at some point.
